I laid on the bed in the room Nik had shown me to. It had been a week since we had returned to Mystic Falls, Nik had figured out the key to creating hybrids. He had created a bunch of them, and they were currently renovating a mansion.

"Klaus wants to speak with you," A female hybrid had stuck her head in to speak before ducking out again. I sighed, swinging my legs off the side of the bed. I smoothed out my dress as it fell to around my ankles, it reminded me of the nightgowns I had worn decades ago. I left the clean room to enter a messy hallway. There were wooden beams everywhere and drywall that had been cut into pieces to fit the narrow ceiling. I entered the main foyer to see Nik standing by an empty chair.

"Good morning Nik," I greeted him as I wrapped my arm around his, placing a light kiss on his cheek.

"Good morning Angel," he chuckled softly before leaning down to kiss the top of my head. "Did you sleep well?" I nodded, in the back of my mind I could still recall the nightmare I'd had.

"I'm sure you didn't call me from my room to ask about sleep." I raised my brows as I turned to face him.

"Of course not. I figured you'd want to know we are leaving soon." My raised brows furrowed in an instant.

"Leaving? But it feels like we just got here." I pouted before he put a hand under my chin.

"Mikael is back, Love. We need to leave." I nodded softly, understanding. He placed a kiss on my forehead.

"I'm tired of running Nik." I heard Rebekah's familiar yelling coming from behind us. "I'm sure Cleo is as well." Nik looked between the two of us and I took a step back, sitting on the chair.

"We don't have much of an option, dear sister." I could tell Nik was tired of having this argument every time we had to uproot our lives and leave. Quite frankly, so was I. "Would you rather end up with a stake in your chest? At the hands of our dear father, no less."

"I'd rather stay here, live here." She took several steps forward, she noticed the bags of blood in a suitcase. As she picked one up, I sat to attention, hoping she would remain calm.

"Rebekah, don't," Nik warned, raising a hand and preparing to step forward.

"You have a family, you don't need another one." She paused, glancing over to me for a split second. "But you don't want a family, do you? No, you want loyalty, people who are bound to do what you say and not disappoint you." I stood and walked behind the chair, resting my forearms on the back.

"She's not wrong Nik, that's why you've been so focused on breaking the curse and making sure you have enough of Elena's blood. You think that the only ones who can be loyal to you are those who have no other option." He turned towards me.

"Not you too Angel, please." I shook my head as I walked towards Bekah.

"I'm not going to play that game Nik, you treat us, your family like crap, and that's exactly why I've denounced my brothers. It wouldn't be right to hold you to a lower standard, to them, or to me." I watched Rebekah as she so diligently disposed of the blood bags before handing me the last intact one. Nik looked at me with pleading eyes as I threw it right by his head. It hit the wall and exploded, the blood trailing down the walls, pooling on the floor.

I turned away and sped to my room, or what was my room anyways. I shoved a few t-shirts and bottoms into a bag and grabbed several of my nicer dresses before speeding out of the house. I'd heard Bekah begging one last time for him to stay before she met me outside the house.

"Where to sister?" I asked, throwing an arm around her shoulder.

"I've got an idea." She smirked as we began walking down the street.
