"There has to be more to this dress." Rebekah said as she adjusted it, looking in the mirror.
"There's not," I replied, stepping up to help her fix the back.
"So women in the 21st century dress like prostitutes then." She scrunched her face in detest. "You know, I used to get dirty looks for wearing trousers." She decided to go back into the dressing room.
"You wore trousers so women today could wear nothing." Nik joked, I shot him a quick glare before he put up his hands in surrender. He pointed to a baby blue dress hanging on a hook and I shook my head. He just looked at me before I rolled my eyes and picked up the dress, heading back into one of the empty dressing rooms. The dress fell around my knees and the straps fell just on the edges of my shoulders. I adjusted the top portion a bit until it was comfortable before heading out, where they were discussing the music.
"It's dance music," Stefan said from his chair. I had to hold back a chuckle as I saw Rebekah's face looked shocked and horrified at the same time.
"You would dance to this?" She asked with utter disbelief, Stefan hummed in response.
"Are we done?" Nik asked, I rolled my eyes, placing my arms over my chest as I looked at him.
"And why are you so grumpy?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows as I went to sit on the arm of the chair next to him.
"I needed one thing from you," he directed his glare towards Bekah, "for my witch to find out why my hybrids are dying, one thing." I sighed, placing a hand on his shoulder in an attempt to calm him down, key word attempt. "Your necklace, and you lost it."
"I didn't lose it! It's just been missing for 90 years." She turned to my brother, showing off her dress. "So, what do you think?"
"I like it." He was very distant, probably thinking about his precious Elena.
"I can always tell when you're lying Stefan." I could tell Rebekah was getting annoyed.
"Nice one," Nik joked, I tapped him on the shoulder and shushed him. "You look lovely my dear Angel." He said, wrapping an arm around my waist, I smirked and stood up, walking to stand next to Bekah.
"Why thank you, and what do you think of Rebekah's dress?" I teased, wanting Rebekah to snap. Nik stayed silent before turning back to Stefan.
"Good work, now we're both in a hole." Rebekah turned to walk back into the dressing room with a scoff.
"You're the one who pulled the dagger out of her." Stefan whispered, ignoring my presence.
"I heard that!" Rebekah called from the dressing rooms causing Stefan's eyes to widen.
"I'm going to get some fresh air." Stefan pushed himself out of the chair and walked out of the small shop. I rolled my eyes and went to head back into the dressing room to get changed by Nik grabbed my waist, holding it gently as if I would break.
"Yes Nik?" I asked without turning around.
"I meant what I said, love, you look stunning in that dress." He leaned in and kissed my cheek before letting go of my waist and letting me go into the dressing room. I quickly changed out of the dress and back into my blood red off the shoulder top with black skinny jeans. Throwing my deep brown leather jacket on over it. Readjusting my black ankle boots before heading back into the main area where Nik and Rebekah were talking.
We headed to Gloria's where eventually we met up with Stefan. I heard the door open, which tore my attention away from Gloria's incessant rambling. I looked over and saw Stefan walking in.
"You left us," I whispered rather loudly to him, causing the others to turn around and see what was happening.
"Yeah, sorry, retail therapy was going to make my head explode." He seemed off, well, more so than usual. "Uh, what's she doing?"
"She's failing," Nik rolled his eyes annoyed as he turned to look back at Gloria.
"It's hard to find something when you have nothing to go on." Gloria's voice dripped poison as she glared at Nik for a moment before closing her eyes to begin chanting again.
"So use me," Rebekah sat down on the table, facing away from Gloria and holding out her hand, "I only wore it for a thousand years."
"See, now this one offers a solution." Gloria took her hand and closed her eyes once again.
"She's, uh, looking for the necklace, huh?" Stefan was hiding more than I knew, I furrowed my eyes as I watched him uncomfortably shift from one leg to the other as he watched Gloria.
"I found it." Gloria's voice was almost monotone, something quite unusual for the witch.
"Then where is it?" I asked, getting tired of all the games.
"It doesn't work like that, doll. I get, images." She looked dazed. "There's a girl with her friends-"
"Yes, a dead girl with dead friends if I don't get my necklace back." Rebekah stood up, looking straight at Gloria, fury blazing in her eyes. I tuned out of the conversation, the pieces had finally fallen into place. That's why Stefan was so worried about Nik finding the necklace, Elena still had it, Elena was alive. I looked to Stefan with widened eyes, opening my mouth to say something before he shook his head slightly.
"Hey, you know, why don't we just come back later. I'm hungry anyway." Stefan suggested, silently signaling for me to go along with it. I rolled my eyes and stayed silent, moving to stand next to Nik, Stefan following. He patted Nik on the shoulder before continuing. "I'll let you pick who we eat." Stefan then turned and began walking to the door. Rebekah smiled before following herself, I held back for a moment before following Nik.
This is the other chapter I thought I posted. Now I'm not missing any pieces XD ~Kat
