I pulled up to the location where Elijah had said to meet him. I saw him standing a few feet away from where I had stopped the car. I turned off the car and got out, running into a big hug from Elijah. I finally let the tears fall as I cried into his chest. After a few minutes, I backed up and smiled.

"I can't believe that Elena undaggered you. I've been trying to reach you since I got here like a week or so ago." Elijah just smiled back at me. "I screwed up Lijah." I looked down at my feet. "Nik's here, and I was just very upset that my brothers had daggered you, the only person I've had for a century that I can confide in. I- I was crying and Nik was just there." I slowly looked back up at him.

"Little Dove, you were together for a while, deeply in love. Those feelings can't just be wished away." I saw him fidget as he tried to make me feel better.

"But I was, I thought I was done with him. After what he did to your, our family. That's why I left with you." I shook my head.

"And if it were anyone else who had left, he would have hunted you down and killed you, he would have seen it as an unforgivable betrayal. But it was you, he knew what he was doing, and he didn't want to see you hurting so he let you go. It doesn't mean he doesn't care, nor does it mean you shouldn't." He rested his hand on my shoulder and smiled at me. I let a small sigh escape my lips.

"It's good to have you back Elijah." I wrapped him in another hug. "I was really worried." He returned the hug gently.

"Now, go, Elena should be back shortly and I must continue my conversation with her, alone." I nodded and gave a brief smile. "I will see you soon Little Dove." Gave him another brief hug before going back to my car and driving to the Grill.

I saw that Matt was there, working and I waved a hello and found an empty booth. I heard people coming and going after I ordered, but I paid no attention until someone sat across from me.

"That seat is-" I stopped when I looked up to see Klaus in front of me. This time there was no doubt it was Klaus because he no longer resided in Alaric's body. "Hello, Nik."

"Hello Love, are you feeling better?" I nodded as my server returned with my fries. "Glad to hear it." He replied before ordering a drink.

"What do you want Nik?" I asked as I began munching on my fries.

"I can't stop and sit with my wife?" I sighed.

"Please don't call me that. We may not be divorced but we aren't together." He chuckled.

"I've missed you, Darling." He pleaded.

"Not going to work Nik," I said, even though I could feel myself blushing.

"I'm being serious. I have missed you." He tried again, this time reaching for my wrist as I reached for another fry. I forgot how sweet he could be.

"I'm here to see my brothers. Nothing else." I said, my heart pounding as I tore my hand away.

"Love, I'm not sure what exactly I did to upset you this time. Last time we met you seemed more-"

"Look, I was very upset the other night. You were the only one I had to turn to. That does not mean I've forgiven you." I sighed. The truth was, I did miss him, I have for years. But I cannot allow myself to be pulled in again, not so easily.

"Give me one chance to prove myself, Love. I won't disappoint." He smirked. I rolled my eyes but slid the basket of fries so they were easier for him to reach.

"You have the rest of the day."

The title of this chapter works for so many reasons. Without the A/N, the word count for this chapter was 666. Plus the end, it just works so well.

Just an FYI I won't be posting a lot during the next few weeks, I have finals, state testing, and music hell weeks (concerts), as well as my birthday in two days. But I'll try to remember to post when I can :) ~KJ
