1922

"Nik!" I squealed as Nik lifted me up from behind. He spun me around before setting me down. I turned to him, laughing and I hit his chest playfully. "Welcome home," I smiled and he leaned down, placing a peck on my lips.

"It's almost time, love." My smile dropped as I remembered why we were packing. "Are all your things packed yet?" He placed a hand on my waist as I turned to face the bed where a suitcase was all but packed to the brim.

"Almost, I just have a few more things." I moved forward to shove the other dresses into the suitcase. "Where are we heading to next?"

"Well, where would you like to go?" He laid the last shirt in the suitcase and began to close it. "As long as Rebekah doesn't protest too much, I'm sure we can convince her to go with us."

"We should go North," I smiled as I tried picking up the heavy suitcase. "I heard there's a city that-" I stopped as I heard footsteps rushing towards us.

"Nik! Where the bloody hell are you?" I suppressed a smile as Rebekah's voice got closer.

"Good luck," I teased, walking out of the room, suitcase in hand. "I'll be in the car, Bekah." I heard Nik let out an annoyed groan as I walked past his sister. "Don't ruin his mood today, we're going to Chicago!" I heard her laugh as I left the house we'd been staying in for the past three years. I set my suitcase in the Peugeot Type 156 and got in the front. It wasn't long before I saw a raging Rebekah following an annoyed Nik.

"What did he do Rebekah?" I jokingly asked.

"My brother, is dragging me along, to Chicago nonetheless!" I laughed at her outrage as she got in the back of the car. "It's not funny." She hit my scolded as she hit my shoulder.

"But it is," I covered my mouth with my gloved hand. "We are traveling, be happy Bekah!"

"My sister wouldn't know the path to happiness if it was right under her nose." Nik teased, smiling over at me. I slapped his shoulder with a scoff.

"Niklaus MIkaelson, be nice!" I glanced back at Rebekah who simply smiled. The drive took about half a day as we were still in the southern part of the country. After fleeing New Orleans we took refuge in Charlotte, North Carolina. Now we got to travel again, I love to travel.

6 hours later

I woke up to Nik placing a gentle kiss on my forehead. A smile crept onto my face, my eyes still closed I reached up to him, my hand landing on his shoulder. My eyes fluttered open and I moved my hand to block out the bright sun. The rustle of Rebekah sitting up in the back drew my attention towards her.

"Nik, when are we getting to Chicago?" Rebekah was obviously annoyed as she smoothed her hair.

"Lucky for you, dear sister," he paused, setting a hand on my head, "we're already here." I smiled as I slid out from the car, adjusting Nik's coat which laid over my shoulders.

"Where are we Nik?" I asked, reaching for his arm for warmth. He smiled as I leaned my head against his arm, Rebekah following behind us as we walked toward a bar.

"Gloria's, there's a witch who might be able to help us break the curse." He replied, holding the door open for Rebekah and I to enter ahead of him. I sighed as I entered the bar, there was hardly any people there, which was to be expected. Pushing my hair back behind my ear I took an uneasy look around. The lights were dim and the few people that were there were sitting at the bar talking. There was a lightness to the air as if the music had just stopped.

"Nik, are you sure we should be here?" I asked quietly pulling myself closer to him. He didn't respond, though, instead just setting a hand on my hair. Bekah had already headed over to the bar. Just as I was about to drag Nik over to the bar as well, I heard a voice from behind us.

"Welcome," the voice was only slightly lower than my own, and as I turned around I tilted my head, my eyebrows slightly furrowed at seeing her.

I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while, things really picked up at school and I have to focus to avoid failing my class :) Have a great day ~Kat
