Fate can be Fatal

Part 13: The Rescue Mission

The roads are pitch black and dangerous in Riverdale at night, but the lights from many serpent bikes lit the road up perfectly. The gang was led by Toni, Sweet Pea and Fangs, followed by Jughead and Betty on one bike and all the others following behind. 

After a quick journey they make it to the Sisters, hopefully before Cheryl did.

They all get off their bikes, and some storm the building, seeing if they could find Cheryl, but all they find are helpless kids, the majority in this underground conversion camp. They head back outside, stating Cheryl is not in there and just then, a large red pulls up. None other than Penelope Blossom and a crying Cheryl next to her. Cheryl looks up to notice Toni and a monstrous group of serpents, knives at the ready, for intimimidation purposes. 

Cheryl looks at her mother, Penelopes face dropping, "How did they know Cheryl?" she asks harshly. 

"How am I supposed to know?" she replies, smirking at Toni who catches it. 

"You did something, because that Southside girl is here" Penelope exclaims. 

Cheryl doesn't reply but begins to smile knowing all these people care, "What now Mother?" Cheryl cockily asks but gets to response from her. 

Penelope exits the car, "I wouldn't go anywhere Mrs Blossom" Jughead shouts over to her, "Let Cheryl come with us" Toni annouces, hoping her mother would let her. 

Just behind the argument, Fangs pulls out his phone, telling Kevin to get his father and other officers to the Sisters, "Kevin, tell your father everything you know about this place, you can save these kids" he says encouraginly and hangs up.

Cheryl then gets out the car, to the disapointment of her mother and runs over to Toni and the serpents, hugging and then kissing her in front of everyone, knowing she couldn't care less about opinions of others now. 

"Thank you all, so much" and begins to slur her words, becoming emotional. Sweet Pea leads her over to Tonis bike and hands her a helmet, "You're special to this one, she's besotted" Pea says, happy his best friend has someone who has turned out to be pretty great. 

Cheryl hugs him, to Pea's awkwardness but accepts it. Just then, the police turn up, along with Kevin Keller. And the police raid the building, after Kevin gave strong evidence to the emotional and physical abuse these kids face. Toni gives Kevin a nod of thanks as he approaches her, "What made you do it?" she asks him.

"I couldn't let these kids suffer whilst we get to live freely and openly" he smiles. 

After getting all the kids out of the sisters, may nuns are taken into custody on numerous charges and the serpents all head home, including Cheryl. But before they did Cheryl passes Sherriff Keller a recording of her mother, threatening her, and leaves happily, knowing she couldn't get off that easily from the law. 

Toni decides to take Cheryl to the Whyte Wyrm with the rest of the serpents, there Cheryl wants to make a speech, thanking the serpents, so she does.

"Hey there everyone, to those who came earlier, and those who have allowed me to be here, I can't thank you all enough, thank you, thank you, I would never have thought this would be my life" and then looks at Toni, "But I couldn't be more glad that it is" and the room erupts into cheers and shouts as Cheryl finishes her thanks. 

After a great night of drinking and making more friends, spending a lot of time chatting with Sweet Pea and Fangs, realising they have a lot in common. Cheryl turns to Toni and says, "So, how does one become a serpent?" and Toni turns back to her, smiling widely...
