Fate can be Fatal

Part 20: The Morning After

Thanking Veronica for a good night, the gang excluding Betty, all walk back to the trailer park. They say their goodnights and head home and head to bed. A more sober Cheryl and Toni walk swiftly back to the trailer, they both call home. 

They make it inside and get ready to sleep. They get undressed and into their pjs and hop into bed, but realise neither are tired.  So decide not to sleep yet but rather...

The next morning, after a great lie in Toni awakes. Hearing a knock on the door she answers it. "Fangs? Whats up?" she asks, inviting him in just as Cheryl walks out the bedroom wearing an oversized jumper and shorts, with a massive smile on her face. It washes away slightly when she sees Fangs instead of just her girl but is eager to  hear about last night antics. 

Both the girls take a seat on the couch together with Fangs sat nervously opposite, "Is everything okay?" Cheryl asks, concerned about what Fangs is going to say.

"Look last night, I kissed Kevin" he admits.

"I think you did more than jus----" Toni starts but is quickly cut off when Cheryl nudges her arm.

"Continue Fangs" she states, getting comfortable.

"I just--- it was great, but now I don't know what to do----because I like him--- but I don't want to scare him off----" beginning to ramble.

"I'm sure the feeling mutual" Cheryl assures him.

"Just because it was for you, doesn't mean it'll be the same for me" he says unhappily.

The girls smile at each other but realise they need to help their friend out. "I'm sure he'll be at Pops today, he usually is, we'll go see him, and slip it into convo" Toni suggests and Fangs agrees, thinking "It'll be a great idea, thanks guys"

Later in the day, the girls bike to Pops and according to Kevins social media updates, he was there too. They walk inside, holding hands and over to Kevins table, "Mind if we join?" Toni asks the unsuspecting boy.

"Of course, how'd you guys find the party?" he replies.

"So good, so many great people. Yours?" Toni says, awaiting backup from Cheryl, "yeah, it was great" she says.

"I enjoyed it but----" Kev begins and is encouraged by Toni to continue, "Well, there was this guy last night, and I really like him, I just don't know if he feels the same way" 

"I'm sure he does, who wouldn't" Toni replies supportively as Cheryl strongly agrees.

"Thanks guys but my dads waiting, I'll see you around" and the trio say their goodbyes. 

"Our work here is done" Toni says.

"And easier than I thought" Cheryl finishes with as they order milkshakes and fries...
