Fate can be Fatal

Part 28: And the Winner Is...

It's finally the Friday of the election. After an exhausting week for both Fred Andrews and the whole gang, who have been campaigning almost every night, they are almost allowed to relax. 

Cheryl and Toni get ready at Veronicas house along with Betty and Josie, who is actually deciding to side with Fred Andrews, due to her harsh opinions towards the Southside. The girls finish with their outfits and all head out in Veronicas car.

They eventually make it to the city hall, there the voting result is being announced at 8pm sharp. Despite trouble parking, the girls make it to the rest of the gang with enough to spare to welcome all Fred's supporters. 

Eventually people begin to take their seats with five minutes to go. Cheryl and Toni take their seats, two rows from the front, sat next to Fangs and Sweet Pea. 

With current Mayor, Mrs McCoy stood on stage, a few feet away from Mr Andrews. Tension is building rapidly, the people waiting to hear the close results. 

"With 63% of votes, the new Mayor of Riverdale is----" 

You could hear a pin drop in the room. 

"Is M----Mr. Fred Andrews" 

And the crowd erupts into cheer. The gang all jump out their seats and begin clapping, ready to celebrate the win. 

Riverdale was finally starting to pick itself back up, and piece it back together. 

From everything that happened with Jason Blossoms murder, his fathers suicide, the covered up lies. Sweet Peas stabbing, Nana Roses incident, the raging homophobia, Penelope's attempt at taking Cheryl to a secret conversion camp, Cheryl being kicked out of home, a kidnapping and rescue of Cheryl once again and so on and so on. Despite all the bad, the good outshined it. New friendships and relationships, birthdays, laughter and some positive change finally happening in Riverdale. 

Hopefully Mayor Andrews will do good for both the North and Southside...
