Fate can be Fatal

Part 11: Grandpa Topaz

A chilled morning eventually comes to a close when Toni gets another knock on the door, but intantly realises its her grandfather, whos been gone for around a week on business. She jumps off the sofa, flings open the door and hugs her grandpa tightly, "I've missed you" she says, her grandpa relying the same.

She takes his bags off him and puts them inside, realising she now has to introduce Cheryl to her elderly grandfather, who may react the same as Penelope did. She grandpa looks up, spotting Cheryl on the couch, "Who is this girl Toni?" he asks, "I'm Cheryl, Mr. Topaz, it's a pleasure to meet you".

"You too my dear, are you a friend of Toni's?" he asks softly as Cheryl is stuck on a reply. Toni jumps in to save her, "Well grandpa, she's a bit more special to me than that" whilst turning around to smile at Cheryl, who stays quiet but smiles back.

"Toni, my love. You never mentioned liking---" but stops, "I'm--- bisexual grandpa" Toni says, her voice shaking knowing it was make or break.

He laughs slightly, Toni gets worried, "My love, you act as if I don't know. I'm your grandpa, I know everything" and hugs Toni, with her in-between laughing and crying. Cheryl even begins to tear up at the sight of such a beautiful, personal moment, knowing she would never have anything like that. 

"I'll go get dressed and head off, give you two some time to catch up" Cheryl says to the happy but emotional pair. "My dear, no need, lets all have lunch, i'd like to get to know more about the infamous Cheryl Blossom" as the girls walk off to get dressed, leaving Mr Topaz waiting for them.

They get into Tonis bedroom and share a quick moment, "I'm so happy for you Toni" she says, kissing her forehead. They soon finish getting ready, and head to Pops, the second best burger place in the whole of Riverdale. The car ride there was happy and welcoming, Mr Topaz drove, telling Cheryl to sit shotgun and Toni in the back so they could chat. 

They made it to Riverdale, initally Cheryl was nervious but once the car pulled up she realised she was finally happy and nothing could corrupt that. The trio head inside, grabbing a booth in the corner, Pops was fairly quiet with only a few people in there. 

After ordering their meals, Mr Topaz begins asking the pair questions, about their meeting and gradual build up, Cheryl returned the questions about Mr Topaz's work, Tonis childhood stories that they all laughed at, and numbeorus other topics. After a long but enjoyable meal, the doors to Pops violently open. It was the police in search for both Cheryl and Toni, at the sight of them, Cheryl grabbed her girls hand sightly, with Toni putting hers over them both, trying to keep Cheryl calm. 

"Miss Topaz, Miss Blossom, come with us" Sherrif Keller announces, "We need to speak to you both".

"What about Sherriff?" Mr Topaz proceeds to ask him. 

"We'll explain at the station" he says as other officers lead the girls out of Pops and to the police station. 

Once there, they are taken into different questioning rooms. 

"Miss Topaz, we've brought you back in regarding your arrest in relation to the attack on Miss Elizabeth Cooper" an officer begins.

"Attack?, i didn't even touch her" Toni says.

After many hours of questioning and Betty finally telling police she didn't want to press charges, Toni is released and sees Cheryl and her grandpa chatting whilst waiting for her. Cheryl spots her and stands up, embracing her, "So...?" she asks. "All charges dropped" Toni happily replies, and they cheer. 

"What happened with you Cheryl?" Toni asks, and she explains that she got questioned over her Nana Rose but the police decided it was an accident so they let her go about an hour ago. 

 Mr Topaz says leads the girls outside back to the car where they unfortunately run into none other than Penelope Blossom again, this time, on her turf and without serpent backup. 

"Shit" the girls say simultaniously and pause.
