Fate can be Fatal

Part 10: Ambush from a Certain Blossom

The girls make it back to Tonis trailer, "Welcome back" she jokes, "Just a warning before I forget, my grandpa will be back tomorrow so just don't bother him". Cheryl nods, understanding Tonis comment and they head inside.

"You've had a shit day Toni, you have your bed tonight. I'll sleep out here" Cheryl enforces, wanting to be kind, carrying on a positive streak, especially someome she had gradually grown so fondly of, in a different kind of way. "Cheryl, you're my guest, please" the girls playfully argue over their sleeping arrangements for a short moment until Cheryl suddenly blurts out, "Lets just sleep together" as the conversation quickly dies, realising how that must've sounded she corrects herself, "Wait--- I meant like---" but Toni stops her, laughing, "Don't worry, I know what you mean" as they head into Toni's bedroom. Toni chucks Cheryl the same clothes she had on the night before and the girls get ready for bed. After changing and using the bathroom, they climb into Toni's comfortable bed and make themselves warmer by pulling the duvet all the way up to their necks. 

They briefly lay in silence until Toni speaks up, "I'm glad you're here Cheryl, I never thought we'd ever be civil, more or less friends, and possibly---" but before Toni could finish, Cheryl spontaneously kisses her, Toni returning it, the girls feelings being mutual. 

A few moments later they separate, and smile at each other, "I didn't know you were--- like I hoped but---" and kisses Cheryl once more. "Lets talk more in morning?" Cheryl questions, stating her tiredness and the girls drift off, Toni cuddling Cheryl as they did so.

The next morning, after one of the best and eventful days Toni had ever had, she woke to a knock on her door. Due to various issues in Riverdale, the school was closed for the day, a bonus on top of a great night so she knew it wasn't her friends. Fearfully she grabbed a pocket knife from her bedside table and walked to the door, looking through the window she realised it was none other than Penelope Blossom. Toni felt conflicted but opened the door, hoping she'd leave without questioning Cheryl's whereabouts. 

The reason behind Penelope arriving at the house, was of course to look for her daughter, who she had kick out two days previously. She had gone to the school yesterday, curious as to the whereabouts of Cheryl. She overheard a group talking about how she seemed to be residing on the Southside trailer park, with someone called Toni and out of anger and disappointment she headed to the residence. 

"Can I help you?" a weary Toni asks, playing dumb but fully knowing that was Cheryl's awful mother, both from conversations with her and you couldn't miss that bright red hair of the Blossom family. 

"Wait?" Penelope looks confused, "This is the... home of Tony Topaz?" 

"What will happen if I say Yes Mrs. Blossom" Toni replies confidentally, praying Cheryls still sleeping. 

"I'm still deciding, you're Toni?" repeats Penelope. 

"I guess so" Toni eventually admits. 

"Tony? A girl, Toni. It's you. You're the scum of the Earth serpent that's corrupted my daughter to your deviant ways" she spits.

"You better leave. You're in the wrong environment to start shouting shit at a serpent of all people, you're in our corners now. And I guess so is Cheryl" Toni says proudly. 

Penelope attempts to budge passed but is aggressively blocked by a protective Toni. From the bedroom, Toni could hear movement and before she could do anything to prevent it, Cheryl walks out of the room and straight into the view of her mother.

She goes ice cold through fear and freezes at the spot, "Cheryl Blossom, you're leaving. But you're not coming home" says her mother sternly.

"Is that a threat?" Toni steps in front of Penelope.

"Is this?" Cheryl's mother replies, in a condescending tone. 

"You better leave, otherwise there's going to be a problem bigger you can handle alone" Toni exclaims, just as Cheryl walks up behind her, clinging onto the back of Tonis shirt, listening to the conversation and praying someone will help.

Toni lets lose a loud whistle, which echoes the trailer park, resulting in Sweet Pea, Fangs, Jughead, among numerous other serpents almost automatically coming to the girls rescue. They all leave their trailers with pocket knifes open, and head straight up to Toni's trailer.

"Now fuck off" Toni whispers, "If not..." pointing to the small army of serpents. 

Penelope immediately backs down and heads back to her car, watching Toni exchange nods and thanks with her people, and drives off in a huff. Once the serpents had left, Toni closes the door and turns to Cheryl who bring her into a loving hug, she doesn't say a word but can feel the warmth from Cheryl, and kisses her on the cheek before taking a seat on the couch together, putting on TV and getting under a blanket, feeling relief but still panicking about what's going to happen next.
