Fate can be Fatal

Part 18: Trips to the Station

"Yes?" Cheryl says cautiously into the phone. "Morning Cheryl, it's Sheriff Keller, could you get to the station as soon as possible" and he hangs up.

"Guys, I think it's about my mother, I've got to go" explains Cheryl, as she packs up her things, kisses Toni and heads off to the car park.

A short time later, she walks into the station and is greeted by Mr. Keller. They head into a private questioning room and take their seats, "Thanks fro coming so quickly Miss Blossom--- We received your evidence of your mother and have officially arrested her, however, an anonymous source has paid her bail and we are forced to release her later today" and Cheryl's hopeful face disappears, "However, you are able to file a restraining order against her, making sure she is at a certain distance away at all times" the Sheriff carefully explains. Cheryl decides it's her only option and files the order. 

Just before she gets up to leave, "Cheryl-- I wish I could've done more to help you. Kevin explained your situation, and my door is always open for you" he says.

"Thank you Sheriff" she finally says and leaves the station.

Earlier the same day, Reggie is led into the station by officers, Jughead had filed the evidence to Sheriff Keller and Reggie was quickly charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Due to his families links, he received house arrest, just as Jughead suspected. 

Once everything was sorted, Cheryl heads to the Wyrm, to meet the gang.

"Hey babe, so--- any news?" Toni asks, welcoming Cheryl, kissing her cheek as she sits down.

"Well, someone's paid her bail--- so she's out--- but I'm hoping to file a restraining order, but that won't stop her" Cheryl says, taking a sip of her drink that Toni had gotten her. 

"I'm sorry to hear that" Fangs says, but Pea lightens the mood when he drunkenly decides to do karaoke, this was definitely a first for him. 

The night passes smoothly and every single issue was finally resolved, which a huge weight off the Serpents back; Reggie was punished, and Cheryl could finally escape her mother, things were looking up. 

The next morning the gang are crowed around Toni's locker, as usual when approached by a loved up Archie and Veronica, who now refer to themselves as 'Varchie' which the girls found a bit strange, and often joked about it, "Next we'll be having to call us, 'Choni' or something stupid like that" Toni banters. 

"Morning Serpent" Veronica cheerfully says, "Just wanted to say I'm having a party this weekend, would love to see you there"

"Great, can't wait" Cheryl replies to the disappointment of the Serpents.

She turns around to face them all, "Really guys, It's one party" she explains and heads to class with Fangs. 

"She is right Pea" Toni begins.

"Parties here are so pretentious here" Pea replies, "These preppy Northsiders want us to be like them" 

"Pea, Pea, just come as you are, you'll have the girls on you in no time", Toni tries to encourage him to get in right mind-set.

"Ok fine, but just this one" he says, as they both walk down the corridor.
