Fate can be Fatal

Part 26: Voting Reveal and the Principals Office

The next morning, Cheryl and Toni bike to school together and get there just in time to join the gang and find out the results. 

Over the loud speakers, Principal Whetherby announces:

"With yesterday vote, the students of Riverdale High School, have made their decision. The serpents to stay vote has outweighed them leaving by 80% to 20%. There we go, have a good day students" 

The gang burst into happiness. However, for three of them, it's short lived. 

"Could Toni Topaz, Cheryl Blossom and Fangs Fogerty all report to my office right now" blares Principal Whetherby over the speakers. The trio stand there in confusion until Jughead says, "Well you guys did punch someone yesterday---" and they swiftly head off to the office. 

Fangs walks just before the happy couple, who hold hands the whole way there. He then proceeds to knock on the door, being welcomed in and told to sit. 

The trio take their seats and the heavy door closes behind the, cutting off the cold breeze into the room. 

"Whats up then?" Toni asks the principal. 

"Miss Topaz? I suggest you learn some manners and then speak to me" says Whetherby. "I brought you here today to discuss the incident yesterday, involving two of you, and two fellow students" 

They nod, "That type of behavior will not be tolerated here" 

"Have you talked to the boys?" Toni asks coldly, ready to make a point. 

"No, they're the effected party here" the principal continues.

"Right. Let me get this straight. Justified violence isn't tolerated but sudden homophobia is?" waiting for a decent reply.

Whetherby remains silent, "This isn't the point Miss. Topaz"

"No, trust me it is. So many kids in this very school have to put up with bullshit from so many other students who think we're less than for whatever reason. Whether it's where wer're from, or who we date, it's all the same. So either you put those boys in their place, or trust me, I will" she says, impressing Cheryl and Fangs. "In the Southside, that would've been solved with a knife fight, think yourself lucky this one wasn't"

She storms out the small room, the duo following. "Toni wait" her girlfriend yells and she slows down. She doesn't say anything but hugs her tightly and then the group head to lunch.

"Tons--- we know we were called in. But why were you" Cheryl asks carefully.

"Basically, after the boys got punched, they didn't go to the principal. They came to find me, and do whatever they thought they needed to. They ambushed me in a classroom and started yelling dumb shit and saying they'd--- they'd make sure Cheryl got hurt. I lost it-- I--- threw over a table, which loudly hit their shins, brusing them probably, after that, one swang but I ducked and hit back--- once he fell to the floor, I legged it and came to the Wyrm, wanting to pretend nothing happened. 

After her explanation, Cheryl takes her hand, holding it tightly, "You're such a badass, I swear" 

Toni laughs, knowing Cheryl's comment never fail to make her happy and the gang eat their lunch, knowing they were safely staying in Riverdale High and that them assholes wouldn't dare mess with them again.
