Prologue (The Beginning of A New Game)

        It's been a few years since the events of that game. A game where thousands of people died. Sword Art Online was the beginning of a new generation of gaming. With the creation and use of the NerveGear, one was able to use Full Dive technology- fully immersing themselves into the game. However, the NerveGear was much more dark and sinister than anyone could have imagined. Ten thousand people had been trapped in Akihiko Kayaba's world. I had been one of them. My name is (Y/N) (L/N), and today, my childhood friend has unknowingly invited me back into the world of VRMMORPGs. A game that is not a death trap.

I grabbed my Amusphere and stared at it, long and hard. This is the first time that I'm going into a Full Dive game since SAO. Ever since my luck of surviving the death game, I stayed away from the VR gaming, sticking to normal games. So, when I had received an email from my childhood friend asking me to join her on her adventures in GGO, I wasn't sure if I should comply. I wasn't sure if I could go back into it. I closed my eyes, a sigh escaping my lips.

"Anything to see you again..." I muttered under my breath. I haven't seen my childhood friend since we were younger. We used to be next door neighbors. However, she had to move away because of her sister. Her parents had moved closer to a school meant for her sister, someone smart. Someone perfect. I plugged the device into my computer, turning it on. I sat down on my bed and placed the device on my head. I closed my eyes, and shouted words I never thought I would say again.
