"Dear (Y/N), your mother and I received paperwork for this new device recently and we believed it would be a great help for you. Within the box I've sent you along with your monthly allowance, is a device called the Augma. Those like you, Sword Art Online survivors have received one for free. They also came with a ticket to an AI Diva's first concert. I thought you would like it, so I placed your name on the list to get a pair of tickets. One for you and a friend of your choosing. Also, please don't be so hard on your mother. You know how she got after the incident. She's just worried for you. We're both very glad you made it out of that game alive. You're always welcome to come home and visit.

Love, Dad"

After reading the letter over twice, I sighed and placed it down. I reached into the box, pocketing the check into my wallet to later put into my bank account. The Augma's box wasn't fancy, rather normal for an Augmented Reality device. I'd read up on the device when it was in development. It's hard to believe I would get one for free. All because I survived the death game. Pulling the device's box out of the package I was sent, I grabbed the knife I had from opening the original box. The silver device sat neatly in its packaging, just waiting to be placed on its user's head. I grabbed the device, bringing it up to my eyes to get a decent look. Looking at how it was placed on the model's head in the instructions, I placed the Augma on my head. Almost immediately, the device turned on.

After inputting my information into the device and going through the basic tutorials, I sent a group text to Asuna and the other girls from SAO. Hey, I just got an Augma in the mail from my parents. I was immediately acknowledged by Lis. Hey! Did you get one of these neat devices for free too?! Well, I wouldn't be surprised, actually. Also, did you register an account for Ordinal Scale yet? You really should. I tilted my head in confusion. Ordinal Scale? Sinon responded in our group chat.

It's a game for the Augma. You haven't heard of it yet? It's been announced to release sometime this week. I hummed in thought. I'll sign up for it then. With that, the conversation went quiet for some time. I took the device off my head and placed it down on my desk. Plopping myself into my chair, I brought up the internet and searched up Ordinal Scale. Upon further investigation, I learned that the game was quite similar to both GGO and SA:O. With being able to use guns and swords, it seems like the best of both worlds for players.

"But... this could mean a decline in VR players in VRMMO games." I muttered. I still signed up for the release of the game. Surprisingly, the sign-up asked for information regarding Sword Art Online.

"Huh? If you were a survivor of Sword Art Online, please input your username." I read aloud. I then later read that SAO survivors received the game for free, compared to paying for it. I caved and entered my username, not thinking much of it.

After finishing that up, I decided to head into GGO for a while. I sent a quick text from my phone to the group chat that I would be online soon. Placing my phone down, I jumped into the world of Gun Gale Online.

"Link Start!"

I sighed, walking around aimlessly with Hikaru.

"Master, what should we do today? It doesn't seem like any of our friends are online right now..." Hikaru stated. I shrugged, not knowing what to do.

"I'm not sure. We could go grind for a bit, but it seems like that's all we've been doing lately. It's too bad you're only an AI and can't leave the boundaries of GGO." I then gasped, thinking about the Augma.

"Wait, maybe you can leave GGO!" Hikaru looked at me in confusion, not sure what I was getting at.

"Hikaru, I received a device called the Augma. It works while the user is awake, using Augmented Reality technology, unlike Virtual Reality." Hikaru tilted his head, not getting what I was getting at.
