Some spoilers at the end of the chapter for Ordinal Scale... but you guys probably expected that :P
Today I decided to hang out for a while in GGO, instead of getting more used to ALO. As I walked around GGO, it felt like a ghost town.
"I guess even GGO is facing the same issues as ALO is because of Ordinal Scale." I told Hikaru and he nodded.
"Yes, I've detected that there's been over 50% less players on today alone." I sighed and frowned.
"At this rate, we might not be able to do the SBC Flugel quest. The devs might postpone it until more players begin to start coming back." I heard someone call out to me. I turned to see who it was.
"Oh, (Y/N). I wasn't expecting to see you today." It was Itsuki and Taipan. I waved at them, along with Hikaru bowing.
"Hey, Itsuki, Taipan. I decided to get on and do some grinding, but seeing it so desolate made me decide otherwise." Taipan agreed.
"Yes, with everyone using the Augma and playing Ordinal Scale, there's been less players in all FullDive games recently." I rubbed the side of my arm.
"I don't blame them. Ordinal Scale is kind of fun, to be honest. It's a good work out, as well. I was so tired after talking to my friends last night, that I just passed out." I told them. Itsuki raised a brow at me.
"Oh, were you at one of those event battles?" I nodded.
"Yeah... the boss was pretty difficult, but my friends and I knew the boss's attack pattern already." My eyes widened slightly when I said that. They don't know that the bosses are SAO bosses. So if I say that I knew the patterns, I'm basically saying I'm an SAO Survivor.
"How did you know the attack patterns?" Asked Itsuki. I chuckled slightly and rubbed the back of my neck. I need to think of something. Quick!
"It was easy to understand. Once we got a feel for the boss's movements, we could tell when it was going to strike next." I explained. I think that's good enough...
"You must be a true gamer to have been able to pick up something as a boss's mechanics pretty easily. I knew I saw something in you. I wasn't lying when I said you have potential." Itsuki told me. I smiled at him.
"Well, thanks. Also, I still feel kind of bad that I missed out on that raid awhile back. So, let me know if we're going to be doing anymore in the future." Itsuki nodded.
"Well, I have some things I need to tend to, if you're on still, we should party up and go out on a hunt." Itsuki told me, and then he and Taipan took off with a wave. I looked over to Hikaru.
"What should we do now, Hikaru?" He shrugged.
"I'm not sure, Master. Maybe we can find someone, or wait for Itsuki to go out on a hunt." I thought for a moment.
"Well, let's just figure things out as we go." I told him and he nodded.
After about a few hours, there still was no signs of anyone else logging onto GGO. I sighed and sat down at a random bench near where Argo usually would be. Not even Argo was online right now.
"I'm so bored. Everyone couldn't possibly be playing Ordinal Scale, could they? They must just have other things going on right now." I stated as Hikaru sat next to me.
"It's been so quiet today." I nodded. Suddenly, there was a loud commotion. Hikaru and I looked at each other.
"What's going on? It was just extremely quiet. Now it sounds like there's an idol here or something." We went to go investigate the source of the noise. Hikaru spotted the group.
