*Slight cursing, very minimal though
"I think we're just about done here... You win, (Y/N)! Congrats on becoming the leader!" Zeliska exclaimed. I stood, while Kureha was hunched over on the floor. I sighed, unequipping my weapon and approaching the girl. Kneeling, I lend my hand out for her to take.
"Come on." She looks up and takes my hand.
"You were pretty tough out there, Kureha. You almost had me, not gonna lie." I stated with a light chuckle at the end of my sentence. Kureha frowns.
"I don't get it. I've been playing GGO longer than you have... How is it that you've managed to surpass me in terms of power so quickly?" She asks. I frown at her.
"It isn't about power, Kureha. Power is... a subjective term to use. In VRMMORPGs, it's not just your level and stats or your weapon's rarity. You have to be able to move in time with an attack. For some it takes time to master, others it comes naturally. You have really great skill when it comes to this game. I would never get cocky and say I'm better at something than you are, when I know that's not the case." Kureha frowns and looks away.
"That's because you are a natural at all of this. You practically lived in a VR world." She states bitterly. I frown in disappointment at her.
"Kureha, that is not fair. I had to adapt to survive in that game. I didn't have the option to respawn if I died! None of us did!" She shakes her head at me.
"You chose to play the game though..." I gasped at her words. I can't believe this!
"Are you being serious right now? Why are you being so freaking petty?! What happened to that promise earlier? Were you just lying? Answer me, Kureha!" I exclaimed at her. Her bangs covered her eyes, causing a shadow to cover her expression.
"I'm leaving." She began to walk away and so I tried to grab her wrist. Suddenly, I instead had a red imprint on my face. I didn't even feel the pain of it happening. I was so out of it, it almost didn't occur to me that Kureha had actually slapped me.
"Don't. Don't touch me." She kept walking, so I tried to follow her.
"(Y/N), just give me some space! I don't need you to be breathing down my neck twenty-four-seven!" She yells at me, causing me to stop.
"I just... don't get what I did wrong? Did I do something to offend you? How am I supposed to help if you don't tell me anything!" I exclaimed at her. Everyone had finally made there way down to us now. Asuna gasped when she saw the red welt on my face.
"Kureha, (Y/N). What's going on?" Kureha didn't say anything.
"It's nothing, Asuna. Kureha just needs to take a break from all of this." I stated. Kureha turned back around and glared at me.
"I don't need you to speak for me! I get it, I did it all the time to you, but you don't need to do it to me. I can speak perfectly fine." I frown.
"Then, do it. Speak. Don't just walk away when someone is talking to you!" I stated back to her. Even though it might have seemed like our argument was getting heated. I was still maintaining a calm expression. I'm just so confused on what's going on and why my friend is acting this way.
"Woah, woah woah!" Kirito exclaimed, his brows were furrowed in concern.
"What is going on between you two? What happened in the few minutes we were gone?" He asked. I shook my head.
"I don't know, honestly. That's something Kureha would have to answer. We were fine one moment and then I must have said something to upset her because she's been acting this way since." I responded to him. Kureha shook her head in disbelief.
