chapter thirty-nine

Zack's p.o.v.

"W-W-What?! Zack no! It's too dangerous. Delsin is facing his inner demon and I'm not sure anyone can even reach him from the outside! Its never been done before" Mom said. I nodded. "I know but as you said, it was never done before so while it won't work, it may work as well". Sabrina, who was off to the side, walked up and slapped me behind my head. "Idiot, don't you think Mom would have tried that". I glared at her. "Remember. Mom is too busy working the ritual and even if she wasn't, Dad probably blocked her out". Michelle who blushed a little when she looked at me, and Uncle Dick and Aunty Star started smirking at that. "B-But Zack.....wouldn't that apply to you too as he can block out anyone?" Michelle said. I smirked at her who blushed even more. "Trust me....I've been training my mind. If not with Telepathy than Telekinesis and my mind is definitely strong enough to break through Dad's barriers" I said pretty confident. "I'm not sure kid...that sounds unnerving" Uncle Cyborg said. "I'll be fine....I'm sure of it". Mom looked at me. "Zack, even if you did break through his barrier, what happens when you face this demon....what then?". The room grew silent as I stared intently in my mother's eyes. I was thinking about what would happen if i did face this demon. Dad never really elaborated on this. I only ever saw a glimpse of his angered side once and I intended not to see that again. I looked over at my mother, who was in a distressed state, and looked her in the eyes. "Mom, I'm not just some random ordinary kid. I'm a conduit and demon hybrid, I can do this. This is what you and dad trained me for!" I said. Mom looked at me with wide eyes and she just smiled at me. She nodded her head at me. "Alright give it a shot...". Sabrina looked at our mother like she grew a second head. "M-Mom?! You can't be serious! Zack could die!". Mom only smirked. "You're right, he may die....". All the adults looked at my mother like she was crazy. "But I choose to believe in him and trust he'll help his father....." Mom said. "You're right Zack, you're not like other kids. Neither are you Sabrina. None of these kids are ordinary....why treat them as such? It's our job as the parents to guide and teach our children and when that's done....believe in them. Why should this moment be any different?!" Mom said. Uncle Nightwing had stepped up and shouted. "Yeah that's true but it's also our job as parents to protect our children from these kinds of things!". Aunt Terra nodded as well. "Yeah Rae. You can't expect us to be like you. My little Leo......aside from Garfield, he's all I have. I couldn't even dream of losing him.....". Mom looked over at Aunt Starfire, who looked down at the floor. Uncle Cy and Uncle Garfield just sighed as the two walked over to Uncle Nightwing's side. I look at mom who only sighed as well.

Raven's p.o.v

I sighed as I started to levitate. I didn't leave the dome but I just turned around. I still had to leave 70% of my attention and energy on the ritual. Any less would make it faulty and kill Delsin. "Dick, do you remember your idea?". The former Boy Wonder looked at me puzzledly, trying to figure out what it is I'm trying to say. "Delsin told me your idea. You, Delsin, Victor and Garfield's little project..... Project Kid Titans" I said. Dick gasped as he completly forgot about that. I looked down to see all the children look at the me then their respective parents, minus Cecilia. "Dad, what does Aunty Rae mean by that? Project Kid Titans?" Leo asked Garfield. Garfield looked down to his son and ruffeld his hair. "It's nothing Leo. Don't worry about it...". I glared at him. "It's nothing?! So you you four weren't planning on training our kids to protect themselves and carry on our team name? Not making the future Teen Titans?". I heard all the kids gasp at that. Zack looked at me and shock. "M-Mom is that true?....". Before I could answer, Dick raised his voice. "Raven that's enough! Don't say anymore!". I only blankly watched him at he glared at me. "You believed in them as much as I do. What's the point in the project if you can't put your faith in them?!". Dick was about to comment but Kori jumped in. "She's right....". She kneeled down and put her arms around her two children. "No matter how much I worry...no matter how much I want to keep you away from danger forever, I can't. If you two are anything like your father, you'll run into it head first without any hesitation whatsoever". With that in mind, everybody chuckled at that while Dick only smiled sheepishly and rubbed his head. He walked up to his family and saw his wife look up at him as well as his own children. He smiled down at them and put his hands on both their heads. "I only wanted to protect you. But with my limited abilities I-". "We know daddy. We know" Michelle interrupted with tears in her eyes. Zack walked from by me to over where Nick and Michelle are. He put his arms around both their necks and looked up at Dick. "Uncle Nightwing, trust us! We've been trained by the best haven't we? Please, believe in us?!" Zack said as Nick and Michelle nodded. Leo walked over and stood at the side of Nick and stared at his parents. "I'm not some little kid, Mom. I can handle myself" Leo said. Sabrina walked over too and stood beside Michelle and smiled. "My mother's right Uncle Nightwing. My brother may be an idiot but he isn't stupid. He's strong in his own right. Same as me, we aren't these weak kids you make us out to be. Look at me and Michelle. We made it out of a Demon Lord's castle and lived to tell the tale. Zack here, was a human battery for weeks on end and lived. We've all  handled a couple of D.U.P. soldiers and burglers too". I nodded and smiled at them. As I kept looking, I saw a little glimpse of the old Titans behind them. Dick, Kori, Garfield, Terra, Victor, me and last but not least, Delsin. It was a nice reminder for me to remember how simple it had been back then. Dick looked down at my son and saw the same look I saw when I looked at it: Determination. The same kind if not, brighter fire in his eyes than Delsin's. 'It's finally time to pass the torch over to the next generation, huh.....Delsin?' I thought. I turned back to my husband's body. "If you're done staring into each other's eyes, Zack, I'd like you to help your father!". I heard my son studder and run up to me. "R-Right!". Zack came up to me and sat down by me. "I need you to hold still and relax your mind....I think you should stand back, Sabrina". Me and my son slightly turn our heads to stare at Sabrina who was fiddling with her fingers. "Sabrina?! Move back! Get outta the circl-". "I wanna come too". Zack gasped at her and I stayed unmoving but I did raise an eyebrow at her. "What?! Sabrina, don't be stupid! I'm the only on to-". "You think you're the only one to discover Telepathy?! Dad taught me about it too and you clearly know I am able to do Telekinesis too, dumbass. Besides... I have to make sure you don't do anything too stupid". I smiled at her and spoke, breaking my daughter's tough girl act. "What she means to say, Zack is that she's worried about her little brother". Sabrina looked at me and whined. "Mom.....". I smiled and motioned a hand, beckoning her to sit down by me too. As she did, I put my hands on there foreheads. I pressed my index and middle fingers to both foreheads. "Now, I shouldn't have to tell you this, Sabrina but keep your mind and body relaxed. Now, Azerath Metrion Zinthos!". Soon the two were out like a light and I stared at the three of them. "Good luck...".

Delsin's p.o.v

In the mind

I still lay there, hearing John destroying everything in the city, trying to find me. In all honesty, as I should be panicking and worrying that he'll find me, I'm in complete peace and acceptance. I can't really fight back. John completely dominates me. 'How did dad defeat such a powerful guy?...'. 'Maybe through sheer luck?....Nah from the stories I've heard dad ain't no punk. He was the conduit so it's probable that his power exceeds the beast's. But my power.....not even in the same ball park. 'Stop putting yourself down Delsin. You'll never beat him like that!' Reggie went on. I started laughing weakly. "Ha.....I'm not putting myself down Reg. I'm just stating facts. That's all. I gave it my all but.....the outcome was the same as me laying here right now. I'm going to die" I said with no hint of fear or anxiety. Just....acceptance. I accepted my fate a while ago. Now all that's left is to just sit back and wait for it. "Dad, get your ass together! You have to beat this jackass!" a familiar voice said. "Come on dad! Get up! Don't sleep on the job!' another familiar voice said. I opened my eyes with sudden shock. I looked to see a young boy and girl staring back at me but it wasn't no ordinary boy and girl. "Zack?! Sabrina?! The hell are you guy's doing in here?!" I questioned them. Reggie chuckled at them. 'Seems like you got the....  adventurous pair of kids, huh Delsin?'. I sighed in annoyance. 'Tell me about it....'. I glared down at my children. "So?! Tell me? How'd you get here?". Sabrina smiled at me, completely oblivious to the amount of KI I'm emitting towards her. "Mom helped us through as she is working the ritual, right? Me and Zack just used our mind powers together to break our way through your barriers you put out to block out mom". I suddenly froze. I started laughing nervously. "So....she figured that out huh?" I said. 'She's probably gonna kill me once I get outta here....'. "But in any case, you need to leave. Right. Now". Zack shook his head at me. "Hell no! We came here to help you kick ass and I'm not leaving until we do!". I glared back at them. "Do you think it's that simple?! Do you honestly believe that you stand a chance against that?!" I said as I pointed out the window at John who threw half a building at the opposite direction of us. "Delsin! Come out! Stop hiding!" he shouted. As he said it, the whole ground shook as even his voice can cause a tremor. It was utterly terrifying. Sabrina and Zack grabbed both of my hands. "We can. As a family" they said with no hesitation in their voices. I widen my eyes at them and slowly but surely, smiled at them. 'You guys.....have really grown up huh?".  'Wait hold on?!.....Once you get outta here? So......you're ready to fight back? You've finally regained your spirit?' Reggie asked me. I looked down the window and saw The beast in all its glory charge it's way to where we are. I looked down to see Zack and Sabrina, filled with determination. I sighed. 'I guess I got no choice but to fight now.....' I thought. "Alright, if you want to help me out so much.....Lets do it then!"

Whao it's been a while since I posted for this story, it almost feels weird doing it again but it also feels right don't ya think. I've had writers block on this for a good while and I'm glad to be coming back with it. It's my baby after all.
