one year ago

I had been spending a lot of time thinking. Just thinking. Some would say that's a bit unproductive but for some reason, I just felt numb and I couldn't move. I tried my best to get Camera out of my head - it worked for a while until, well, my manager decided it was a good idea to remind me to put the second week of September on my planner for the next year - which I haven't even bought.

It's been fairly quiet over all though.

Every monday since two months ago was photoshoot and filming day. Which meant getting out of bed at five, driving for around two and a half hours to the east. That week, I was shooting for a clothing company's spring line launching two weeks from then.

The time was six and we were already running half an hour late. I woke up not long earlier and nearly collapsed at finding out that the time was already five fifteen.

There was nothing we could do to speed the car up as the limit on the freeway was 100. All around us, the scenery that was already boring became even more boring each time we go. It's just a dry piece of yellowish beige sand and gumtrees lining up the straight straight road ahead. There's an occasional small town that we pass, but other than that, the road is pretty uneventful.

We knew we were nearing the shooting location when the road started going uphill and the land transformed into a sea of eucalyptus and peppercorn forest. The air had also become chillier and we could see the small puffs of air from our mouths as if it was still winter.

"We nearly replaced you with another model!" my manager breathed an exhale of relief once I got down the car, handing me a cup of hot chocolate - that's now warm.

"I'll always come, Jess, don't worry," I grinned, sipping a little from the cup.

"Chop chop, then!" she chirped, rushing me into a wardrobe caravan.

I sat on my usual stool, drifting off to sleep slowly. I would wake up every now and then because of loud noises but I went right back to sleeping once it's settled down.

Once my make up was done, I walked out the caravan drowsily, everything was still a blur. Even though the weather was cold, it didn't seem to wake me up.

Even after the shooting ended, my eyes were still half opened, making me look like a walking talking meme. Which I intend not to be.

Little did I know that by 10:10am - the time I'd usually still be asleep in any other day - I would be wide awake.

"Sera, come here, darl," my manager called, patting the camping chair next to hers with her tablet sat on her lap.

"Yea?"

I peered over her shoulder and on it was an email from a very familiar sounding company.

"As I mentioned many months ago, Camera's crew works pretty quickly," manager Jess explained which made me scrunch my brows into a straight line, "the venue, the date, everything for the new movie is set."

"They want you to come as a guest of honour."
