Chapter 6: Night and Day

Sayuri's POV:

I let the girl sleep in my bed and decided to sleep on the couch, however I had no intention of going to bed until brother came home. I never went to bed until I knew he was safe in our own home. He had to work particularly late this evening, so I waited until he got home to cook for him. When I began to smell him coming near home I got up and began to cook. One of the benefits of being a half blood Inuzuka.

By the time he entered, his supper was nearly ready.

Kakashi: "You know you don't have to do that kiddo, I can fend for myself. You should be resting."

Sayuri: "You have been working all day protecting the village and doing paperwork for the betterment of our village. You're exhausted and need to rest more than I do. Besides, it gives me joy to cook for you elder brother, it helps to make up for the lost years."
I could see him smile through the mask he wore. He thanked me and went to change, when he came back he was in his night clothes and reading Make out Paradise. That was when he noticed how I made up the couch into a bed.

Kakashi: "Is Lee coming over to spend the night on the couch again?"

Sayuri: "No, our unknown patient is staying the night and I gave her my bed."

Kakashi: "I assumed she would go back to the hospital to stay, but this makes more sense I suppose. We can keep a close eye on her and make sure she isn't an enemy. However you need a goodnight sleep and I doubt you can achieve that on the couch. Take my bed, I'll sleep on the couch."

Sayuri: "No, you need rest Lord Hokage. I will be just fine."

He sighed. "How many times do I have to say quit with the formalities?"

Sayuri: "Until you pick another Hokage, now come eat. I'm sleeping on the couch, end of discussion."

Kakashi: "Sometimes I wonder who is really the Hokage around here, me or you."

The Next Day, Early Morning

I rose early as always to cook breakfast for elder brother, the mystery girl was still asleep so I didn't bother to wake her. She needed rest. As I prepared the meal for him I explained the happenings of the previous day, including the part about her insect knowledge.

Kakashi: "That is odd, just be careful around her. I don't believe she would attack you but be cautious. You're all I have left now, I can't let anything happen to you."

"I will be careful elder brother, I promise. Now finish eating before it gets cold."

After he finished eating and left for work, I heard the girl rise. I cooked breakfast for her and by the time she entered the room it was finished.

Girl: "You cooked for me? Thank you, I feel bad though. You don't even know me, I don't even know me."

Sayuri: " Please don't feel bad, you deserve this after what you've been through. We may not know much about who you are, but unless you prove yourself to be an enemy you are my friend. Even then I would still be your friend."

She smiled and ate heartily. I explained that we were going to the forest that day, to see if we could jog her memory by letting her see the place she was found. I couldn't help but notice the worry and confusion written all over her face.
