Chapter 20: Demodulation

Shino's POV: 

Lord Hokage looked at us with his typical nonchalance, but inside his eyes I saw that he was at war with himself. Our actions could be considered as treason against the village by going against the command of the Hokage and everyone knew it.

Kakashi: "My word is final, back down or each of you opposed will be suspended from duty."

I looked toward the others, they all were looking to me and Sayuri, but she didn't look at us. Her gaze was on Kakashi, the fierce determination in her eyes was unwavering. She gave us all the strength to stand up for what we believed in and none of us backed down. We stood around Andromeda in her defense, Rock Lee, Sayuri, Naruto, and I. 

Lord Hokage was about to speak up again when Ino's voice rang clear behind us. All this time she had been ensuring that Andromeda's memories were all complete despite the revelation of her clan name.

Ino: "Lord Hokage, her memories are in fact complete and in order."

Kakashi: "Very well, place her under a genjutsu and seal access to her memories. We shall keep her here for now. The final ruling of her fate shall be made at the Kage Summit.

My spirits rose, at least she wasn't  being taken to the prison. However I wished she didn't have to be under any kind of control. Nothing that had occurred was her fault, she had no memory before now after all so there was no reason to punish her.

Kakashi: "I'm returning to the office now. Naruto , despite your opposition to this, you and the ninjas I select will remain here with her. Other ninjas go back to your duties."

Lord Hokage selected for Naruto, Ino, Shikamaru, and 3 other ninjas I wasn't familiar with to stay behind to guard her. As the others left I couldn't help but feel torn. I wanted to stay and protect her but I didn't really understand why. Despite this I left with Sayuri and Lee, then went home for some much needed rest. Orders were orders.

Sayuri's POV: 

As I exited the interrogation room, Elder brother pulled me aside despite me being with Lee and Shino.

Kakashi: "Sayuri look, we need to talk."

Sayuri: "Perhaps another time Lord Hokage, I'm sure you have a busy schedule."

I left without another word. I didn't go home that night, I couldn't look him in the eye after what happened. I of course didn't spend the night with Lee as we weren't married yet and he would look for me there anyways. I knew he would look for me at Hinata's home as I was such great friends with her and members of her clan, so I didn't go there. He would look for me at the hospital, so instead I went to the library and spent the entire night studying medical jutsu and the human body.
