Chapter 14: Debate

No One's POV:

The small group gathered to discuss strategy while Ino continued to piece together the remnants of Andromeda's mind.

Yamanaka Clan member: "I'm not sure why you asked us few to gather Honorable Sister. Based on what Ino said, there isn't much we can do, I know she is your friend but isn't this just a waste of time and resources?"

Shikamaru: *sigh* This is such a drag but he does have a point.

Sayuri's face held a calm outward appearance but inside she was a mix of anger and anxiety. Her new found friend's life was hanging in the balance. What kind of life could she live with no memories, and no sense of self? Then again what if they did fix her mind only to find out she was an enemy? All of this made her feel anxious enough, and then this man had the nerve to question her resolve and call her Honorable Sister of all things, as though she weren't a person outside of being the Hokage's sister.

Sayuri: "My name is not Honorable Sister, I am Sayuri Hatake. Address me by my name in the future. You are correct, she is my friend but that isn't why it's important to fix her memory."

Yamanaka Clan member: "Then why ?"

Sayuri: "Take a moment to think this through. She doesn't know who she is and neither do we. Suppose we do nothing to regain her memory and it turns out she is someone of nobility, for example the daughter of a feudal Lord or the child of another prominent figure who hires Shinobi for guarding them. Now what if they were to find out that we had the resources to fix her mind and didn't? They may begrudge us for this and stop hiring our shinobi and instead seek out another village's shinobi. We all would suffer that loss of income and the benefits of that relationship."

Yamanaka Clan member: "That is true I suppose, but what if she is a villain?"

Sayuri: "Again, she could be an enemy but what if she is the child of someone prominent? If we fix her then this could repair relationships with the enemy."

Yamanaka Clan member: "And if it doesn't?"

Sayuri was known for her patience and lack of temper but this man was truly pushing her buttons.

Sayuri: "I will personally take responsibility for her, if she turns out to be an enemy and attacks the village then I will take the blame! I will accept all of the hard feelings and hatred towards her."

Naruto overheard these words and he couldn't help but remember saying something similar about Sasuke. No matter what he would support Sayuri in bringing Andromeda out of evil if necessary. Lee knew his fiancee was resolute about this, he had never seen her so fired up and he vowed to shoulder anything with her.

Sayuri felt a firm hand on her shoulder.

Kakashi: "Sayuri..."

She interrupted

Sayuri: "Kakashi."

Kakashi: "Sayuri you can't mean that."

Sayuri: "I do. Now instead of arguing over whether or not we should help her, how about we do something productive and actually try figuring out how to help her."
