Chapter 21: Guidance

Sayuri's POV:

My eyes were drawn to a specific book and I found myself picking it up. The Crest on it was undeniable as to its contents. I heard a man's voice in my head as I held the book.

"Open it Sayuri."

I had heard that voice once, the night before we found out about Andromeda's identity. I heard it in a dream telling me "The world as you know it will face evil again. Andromeda will play a key role in its defeat. Protect her."

I trusted that voice and despite the pain it caused me I spoke out against my brother in favor of the girl.

Without thought I opened the book. It held all known information about the Uchiha clan. I opened the book to a page of countless names, all of which were covered in red x marks except Sasuke Uchiha. Yet his name wasn't the first one that caught my eye.

Sayuri: "Obito Uchiha..."

The second I spoke that name the lights around me flickered and shut off, the book took on an unearthly glow and his name became emblazoned in a sea of red . I dropped the book in terror and watched as the glow around the book began to take the shape of a man. The glow became blinding for an instant and I looked away. When I looked back I saw a man with sharigan, white hair, and a slightly disfigured face.

Sayuri: "W-who are you?"

Obito: "I'm Obito Uchiha."

Sayuri: "You were my brother's teammate! Your voice... you came to me in my dream!"

Obito: "That is correct, I wish I could have met you under different circumstances. I know I have done terrible things but you must trust me."

Sayuri: "If elder brother trusted you then so will I."

He smiled at me

Obito: "I'm glad you trust me. I don't have long to explain, I can't keep Rin waiting. It's not just me you should trust, but you need to trust Andromeda as well. The Sage of Six Paths believes she will be an important figure in the fight to come. I don't know what information she has regarding the evil to come or her powers but she can't be imprisoned or killed no matter what."

Sayuri: "What can I do to protect her? I'm not a kage, no one will listen to me."

Obito: "Whatever happens, don't let them silence her. Make them hear her out. You're stronger than you think. Even if no one else supports you. I do. Tell them what I said."

Sayuri: "They'll never believe I spoke with you."

Obito :"Use this, then he will believe you, everyone will. Don't use it until you're positive it will have the right effect. I have to go now. I have kept Rin waiting long enough. It was nice to meet you sister."

Sayuri: "I'll make you proud brother! I'll make them listen to me!"

He smiled and evaporated into glowing sparkles. The last thing I saw was his smile.

I'll make them listen. I thought about what brother Obito gave me, then put the book back on the shelf.
