Hermione's POV

"I wasn't sure what you wanted, so I paired green and blue together, because they're basically the same color," Ron came up with two bowls, though Hermione knew that there were more Skittle colors than that.

"So, Ron," Hermione started. "It was nice of you do this, but I think I'm going to have to break up with you."

Instead of throwing a tantrum like she had expected, he slumped in relief.

"Good, because I wouldn't be able to date you unless you put in an effort to not look like a beaver all the time," Ron indifferently said.

Well, ouch.

But Hermione was too happy with her success with Mr. Weasley to even get annoyed. "Sorry it didn't work out." She slipped away.

Harry and Ginny were standing together, a little away from  Draco, who looked like he was going to hit something.

Ginny opened her mouth when Hermione rushed towards them, but she cut her off. "I know what you're going to say, but I promise that I had a good reason for all of it."

Ginny's eyes widened in anger. "You cheated on Draco!"

"I didn't really cheat on him," Hermione mumbled.

"You kissed another guy! My brother!" Ginny protested, disgusted.

"He's a terrible kisser. And he's an idiot," Hermione shrugged.

"You. Cheated. On. Draco!" Ginny spluttered.

"He knew about it," Hermione tried to convince both herself and Ginny.

"Draco?" She approached him.

He shot her an icy glare.

"Oh, that's not fair," Hermione complained. "I only did what I had to - oh, aren't these tacos delicious?"

Evidently, no one got her sudden change of topic, because they all gaped at her like fish.

"Oh, how my head is killing me!" Hermione tried in vain to let her friends know about the pink monster approaching. "Professor Umbridge, is your head not aching?"

Three pairs of eyes widened in realization.

"As a matter of fact, no," came the cordial reply. "But you must let me have a look at got purse, Ms. Granger. I've never seen one so... extraordinary. And I'm sure the contents will be much the same."

She suspects us, Hermione thought, panicked.

"Of course," Hermione smiled. She thanked Merlin she hadn't been foolish enough to put the memories in her purse. But with the way Umbridge was looking over Hermione, she knew that the tapes would have to be taken somewhere safe. "But, Merlin, how my feet hurt as well! It's these bloody heels, I reckon." She widened her eyes, trying to convey the message to the boys.

Ten seconds passed.

"Draco, dearest," Hermione finally said. "Could you be a dear and take these shoes, run up to my room and grab my silver flats? I believe that will be more festive, too."
