Saving Riddle
Being American in Hogwarts seems daunting enough to Emma Collins. Once she's sorted into Slytherin, apparently the 'worst of all the houses', she's sure it can't get worse. But being the poor soul that's dared to make Tom Riddle fall in love with her is as bad as it can get.
Countless dark rumors surround the boy - things like he was the cause of Katie Schneider's death, how Alexa Johnson was poisoned, and that Leo Sej was pushed off the Astronomy Tower by him.
And now Emma was meeting up with him at the very same Astronomy Tower, exchanging stolen kisses and secret letters.
Emma has a decision: make Tom Riddle fall for her, and try to change his ways - and maybe save numerous people - or distance herself from the dark, moody boy and his dangerous pastimes and habits, saving herself but not the others.
It's really not easy being Emma Collins.

Chapter 1: The Clueless American Girl Strikes Again
Emma's POV
I had thought that being a new kid in Hogwarts would be bad enough. Sure, all the other first years were new, too, but being new in any school is scary.
Being the new American kid? Worse.
But being the kid of Hailey Collins, the famous actress currently dating apparently three actors at once?
I knew I was in for a terrible year.
As soon as I stepped through the brick wall - yes, a brick wall; how weird are British people? - people started staring at me and Hailey, like they'd never seen an American before.
To my mother's face, I call her mom, but everywhere else, I call her Hailey, because that's who she is - not my mom, just Hailey the famous movie actress. Anyways, Hailey was wearing a big coat and a wide hat, making us look even stranger on the platform. Thankfully, the children didn't seem to know Hailey, maybe because all her movies were a flop everywhere else besides America.
After listening to her recount the rules of Hogwarts again, I couldn't take it anymore. "I'm going to go," I muttered to her, trying to imitate a British accent and fit in. Though, judging by the snickers of the students, I wasn't doing so well.
Maybe it was my outfit? I had worn plain black leggings and a cute crop top, but isn't that, like, universal? The only thing that was different about us was our accents, wasn't it? And maybe the fact that my mother was a famous actress freak?
"Oh, honey," Hailey held herself back from bursting into tears. "I love you. Owl all the time, okay?"
"You - you want me to send a living, breathing owl all the way to America? H - Mom, they can't Apparate. They'll have to fly the distance. All the way to California."
