Rachel abruptly sits up startling a few girls.

"What are you doing stick?" Miyoko asks in a rough low voice.

"I think I saw something." Rachel says and grabs the maps.

"Alright but whatever you do, be quiet." Miyoko says and Rachel gives her a firm nod.

Sitting back on her place, she starts examining the papers.

"Aimee," Rachel whispers, "I need you to hold the flashlight for me." She says and Aimee nods.

Rachel tries not to gasp as she sees the maps. "I have an idea." Rachel says and the girls give her a confused look.

Guys! Rachel says shouting in her mind. I think I found something!

Keep it down Rach. Aris says holding his head.

What did you find? Eliza asks and feels Aris confusion.

You can do this too liz? He asks raising an eyebrow.

Apparently. She says with a shrug. But that's not important right now. What did you find Rach?

When someone laid the maps on the floor I noticed that some lines repeat more than others, so if we put them together we could find....

A code. The three of them say at the same time.

It makes sense. Eliza says.

What do you mean? Rachel says frowning.

When I was in the infirmary Aris told me to tell you that the maze is a code, I didn't know if I had imagined it so I didn't say anything.

You're right! Rachel says. It is a code, which means now we have more clues but I need to know more-

Their conversation is interrupted when a griever bangs on the door loudly.

There's a griever outside. Rachel says.

There's another one here too. Eliza says.

Aris? Rachel asks.

Not yet.

I have an idea but I need your help, alright? Rachel says.

***

But that's crazy! Aris says.

It's the only way to finish this quickly.

Alright, but be careful. Aris says.

Rachel turns to face the other girls and tell them to get closer. "Alright, this might be hard but I noticed that if we put some maps together we can find a pattern."

"How so?" Miyoko asks.

"It's hard to tell right now, but if we re-draw the maps on something thinner it might help to see it clearer."

"Alright, now you're onto something." Miyoko says with a slight smile, "we don't have the materials here but I'm pretty sure we can get some."

"Fancy that." Rachel says.

After hearing Rachel's idea, Miyoko assigns each girl a task and together they get ready.

"What about the griever outside?" A girl asks.

"Don't worry about that, I got it." Rachel says and opens the door before anyone can stop her, stepping out and catching the grievers attention.

As soon as the griever looks at her, Rachel smirks and mutters "gotcha," she then sprints into action and starts heading for the canopy of trees, not looking back so the other girls can escape.

The griever roars as it chases the girl, successfully catching the other grievers' attention.

Everything is going according to the plan.

As she reaches the trees she looks for a small opening on the roots of a tree and hides there.

Rachel nervously runs her hands through her hair and hears her breath echoing loudly as she waits for the griever to find her.

With each passing moment her anxiety grows and the beetle blade next to her startles her making her yelp.

In no time the grievers start heading in her direction. The beetle blade scurries away as the griever pieces it's menacing weapon through one of the small openings, not enough to take her, but enough to sting her.

Her breath quickens as she feels the liquid run through her body and her head lands on the soft ground as she gasps for air.

The last thing Rachel sees before her vision blurs is the griever backing out and running away from her, then darkness consumes her.

Here's another update for ya sticks! Hope you like it and hopefully I'll get a chance to update more often!
