Addie's P.O.V.

"How was your weekend?" Niall asked me as soon as the bell rang, announcing that last period ended and we were finally free.

I normally hated school more than this, but school now reminded me of what it was like to be a normal person. There were no supernatural aspects, and I was fine with that.

"Unexpected to say the least," I muttered, thinking back to Louis' visit.

"How was yours?" I questioned, hoping he wouldn't ask me anymore questions about mine.

"I was pretty bored. I don't have many friends other than you, so I just played guitar and sang a bit. Did some homework too, of course."

He piqued my interest so I smiled at him as more questions popped into my head.

"You sing?"

He nodded and his head lowered in embarrassment, "I've been singing since I was just a little one. It's a hobby. I wanted it to turn into a career option but I don't think I'm good enough. That's when I turned to psychology."

"You should sing for me sometime, and why psychology?"

"Well, why are you interested in psychology?"

I laughed as he questioned me so quickly.

"I've always had an interest in knowing more about people and their behaviors. Why are certain emotions triggered at certain times? Why do people do the things they do? Everyone has secrets, but unlocking minds is an intriguing proposition."

I mentally cross my fingers, praying that I don't sound like a mad scientist.

"You sound passionate about the subject. I like that about you. You know what you want." He grinned at me and I smiled back although I felt slightly awkward.

I really hoped this boy wasn't developing feelings for me.

"You mentioned earlier that you were going to head to the library, right?"

I gasped, "Oh! Right! Thank you for reminding me."

He shook his head, "No problem. I can run you by there and then I'm off to the football field."

He had explained earlier how much he loved that sport; I call it soccer but if I think about it, it makes more sense to call it football.

"I appreciate your offer, but you should get to the field. The library seems a little too far. Thank you, Niall. I'll see you tomorrow!"

I waved goodbye to him and hurried away before he could say anything else. I needed to go to the library to get away. Books had always helped me relax, and I'd been extremely stressed lately.

The library had always been the right temperature, not too hot or cold. It was my home away from home. I rested on a rocking chair in the corner of the room and pulled out a book that I'd owned for years. I couldn't decide if it was my favorite, but I sure had read it plenty of times.

I pulled my knees to my chest with one hand as I held the book in my other hand. Soon enough, the book had completely grasped me into it. I didn't glance up for a second to see if anyone was around me until the librarian came around and said she was closing the doors. I checked my phone and was surprised to find that I'd been in "another world" for an hour and a half.

The librarian walked away and I read one last page before closing it with my bookmark. I set it into my backpack and zipped up the bag before spying a person staring at me from across the room. She owned bleach blonde hair and her lips were moving as if she were trying to say something to me.

The way her head was tilted was a little creepy so I glanced down for a second before my eyes glimpsed back. My eyes moved around the room and confusion set in when I realized that she had somehow disappeared.

Then it clicked.

The girl my cousin had dreamed of! For some reason, once I left the library and got into my car, I thought to call Zayn and tell him. I was going to tell him everything that seemed suspicious. I frowned when he wouldn't pick up and then shrugged. Maybe he was busy doing whatever he does when I wasn't there...like staring at a wall or being awkward.

I laughed at my own thoughts and began to drive home. He was most-likely researching vampires like he was all day yesterday. It was actually boring being around him because he wouldn't talk to me. He was so focused and weird. I mean, I was totally obsessed with vampires too, like Edward Cullen, until I met Zayn and that led me to meeting Louis.

My opinion of vampires had completely changed.

They were psychopaths.
