There was nothing I could to do help her.

She was being controlled, possessed, just as Cecilia had been. It frightened me in all honesty, and I was still uncertain of where this vicious specter was taking me.

"Adelaide, come back to me," I pleaded quietly.

The specter was no longer facing me using Adelaide's head.

"Adelaide, I know you're in there. You're stronger than this specter."

"You are foolish," another voice came out of Adelaide's mouth.

"What do you want with her? What do you want with Cecilia?" I questioned.

The specter did not answer me, and I felt myself slowly become more heated.

"Addie," I used her nickname for once, but there was no result that I had been hoping for.

I wished she would fight from within. She had to be inside there somewhere. She had a strong will and heart. She could pull through.

"How did you die?" I demanded the specter.

"I am not dead," it snapped back.

It was not dead? Surely, it must have been. It was a specter...or so I had believed it to be.

"Are you a specter?"

It did not answer, for we had reached the destination: Adelaide's college. What would it want from here?

"Why are we here?"

It was very unresponsive and I sighed in frustration. It stopped the car and immediately opened the door to step out. The seat-belt stopped pushing me against the seat, and I unbuckled quickly.

"What was the purpose of coming here? There is nothing here."

It turned to me and it pained me to watch her body being taken over. She did not appear to be anything like herself anymore, though it was the same body. The light from her beautiful eyes disappeared once they became white. Her lips remained in a straight line and her natural glow had vanished.

"You will see," it promised me in an unsettling manner.

I tried to stay put with the car, but a force compelled me to follow the parasite within Adelaide's body. We entered the psychology building and it headed straight for the staircase to the right of us.

Did this college have a past that I had not known anything about?

The stairs appeared to be endless as we made our way up to the very top floor: the seventh floor. As we passed a few nearby classrooms, it seemed as though the classes were smaller up here. There were less desks and chairs in the rooms.

Whatever had taken over Adelaide's body knew exactly where it was going as it whipped around corners swiftly. My pace increased and I caught up, moving in front of Adelaide's body. My hands wrapped around her arms as I kept her in place in front of me.

"Adelaide, be strong. Fight it. Please."

The white eyes that stared back at me seemed to swirl and almost change back to Adelaide's captivating brown ones, but the creature fought back again and took over complete control.

"Adelaide, I need you to come back. I need you. Please. Do you hear me?"

Her body remained perfectly still and I carefully let go of her arms. Nothing happened.

"Do not leave me. Please, do not leave," I repeated over and over again.

I remembered the times when I had left, and when I had wished for her to leave me. I had not realised how much she would mean to me then.

I knew now that I cared for her. I needed her here with me. I had been alone for so long, but my humanity was coming back. There was no more denying it all. I had feelings for Adelaide. I did not want to leave, and I did not want her to leave. I never wanted her to leave.

"Please," I begged.

Her arm lifted and shoved me away with a force so great that I flew against the wall opposite of where I had been before and I landed brutally with my palms touching the floor. I stood instantly and followed as her body moved at an unbelievable speed to an open door. I ran towards it, yelling for Adelaide to break free.

Her head turned towards me, and I noticed a glimmer of Adelaide inside, crying out, desperately struggling against the power of the parasite inside. Her body entered the classroom and the door slammed behind her instantaneously.

I rushed forward and banged on the door, using every ounce of strength I could muster, but it was not enough. The door would not open as a result of the power surrounding Adelaide's body. A cloth draped down in front of the classroom door's window, and I screamed out in rage.

I would get to her somehow. I swore it.
