Zayn's P.O.V.

I began kicking the door with all my power after I had already tried pushing, charging into it and breaking the glass window with a fire extinguisher; nothing would work. The door would never open to me because I am not a sorcerer. I do not have the power, magically, to open the door.

"Zayn," a voice lamented. Turning around, I noticed a woman had been standing behind me, clearly watching as I struggled. I ignored the fact that she knew my name somehow. I just needed her to help me get this door to open. I eyed her for a moment and realised that she was a specter. The chances of her opening this door were slim to none, but I could not rule anything out.

"Would you assist me in opening this door?" I asked her politely, although I was aching to get to Adelaide. "I am afraid that I cannot. I have no control over Gemma," she told me, causing me dismay. Gemma was in there with Adelaide? Why?

"I have to get through this door though." I could not just ask Gemma to let me in when she obviously did not want me there. I have no clue what she may be telling Adelaide. Gemma has always been known to me as being irrepressible and narcissistic. Whatever information she must want from Adelaide, she will do anything to grasp it.

The world seemed to shake and go indistinct and hazy. I knew what was coming: a vision.

"Gemma wasn't jealous of Evelyn for her beauty, though many were. Gemma just envied the attention Xavier had given Evelyn. He loved Evelyn more than life itself, and Gemma craved that desperately. Gemma despised Evelyn without even really knowing her."

"Evelyn had a kind, compassionate soul. She was described as 'beautiful beyond compare'. Evelyn had one fault though; she had been fearful of standing against others. The goodness within her was too strong, thus she didn't have a harsh or particularly couragous bone in her body."

The way my mother was speaking of Evelyn and Gemma made me believe that maybe Xavier could not be blamed for choosing Evelyn over Gemma. Gemma could be ruthless and relentless. Who would want to be with someone of those qualities?

When reality came rushing back to me, I knew who this specter was; Evelyn.

Addie's P.O.V.

Gemma's green eyes never left me as I paced back and forth around the room. Why wouldn't she just let me go? Who cares if I'm supposedly a sorceress? Zayn could help me through my powers. I sure as hell didn't need Gemma here to teach me magic tricks!

I wonder if Zayn knows that I'm not hurt at the moment. I'm guessing that he's worried about me. I mean, I know I'd be worried about him. "Addie," Gemma repeated my name as she had been doing for the past five minutes. "What?" She was annoying and she wouldn't just explain why she was here.

"You seem to strongly dislike me, and I don't know why that is. I'm only trying to finally tell you everything. You're nineteen now, I believe? You're old enough to know the truth." What truth? She already told me I'm a freaking sorceress. What's next? Am I a fairy princess too?

"So you possessed me, hurt Zayn, trapped me in a creepy classroom at my school, sat there and basically told me nothing important because you're here to 'finally tell me everything'? Really? Are you sure about that? So far, you've done nothing except, well, nothing. I'm a sorceress? Alright. Fine. Whatever. Could you just stop sitting there staring at me like a weirdo and just talk?"

Gemma's eyes gleamed with resentment towards me for a second before she began staring as if this was boring her. "You think you know who you are, but you don't. Your past isn't what you believe it is, Adelaide. You're not from this time. You've been alive since 1834."
