I do not know which is worse, the fact that I ran out of pig balls, Mom kidnapped and the Mist disappeared, or two prophecies for a single quest. This has never happened before.
"Wait. What just happened?" Percy asked.
"There are two prophecies, seaweed brain, and we do not know what to do yet. At least, we're not sure of the plans," Annabeth answered.
"Does this mean I'll lead two quests, or...?" I trailed off. Really, sometimes it gets annoying when you do not know anything at camp. We at the Hecate cabin just happen to get to know things through our own methods. Hem hem, "scrying" hem hem.
"No, dear. It means we'll have two separate quests. Annabeth, can you lead the other?" Chiron inquired.
"Of course, and I need to take four others, right?" Annabeth asked. Chiron nodded.
"Percy, then. Thalia, can you come with me?"
"I'll have to leave my hunters here at camp, but sure," Thalia replied. This girl is really smart. Taking two of the most powerful demigods can really help her. For a second I started to doubt my decision to take Will and Cecil but I saw Cecil looking and I just shrugged the thought off. Of course, we can do this!
"For the third member, I'll take Piper. The Mist may not be here, but Charmspeak still works, right?" Annabeth looked at Piper.
"Leo, do a little chicken dance," Piper ordered, her voice laced with heavy charmspeak. I can feel its magic even from here. When Leo did, she nodded at Annabeth.
"Lastly, I'll take Frank," Annabeth stated.
"Frank? We'll have to inform Camo Jupiter, then. You will need to rendezvous before starting the quest," Chiron said, his eyebrows raised.
"Yes. He's part Asian, so if what the prophecy says about the land beyond the gods in the east is true, maybe he can help. Also, we'll need a demigod who can read for us. It's best if we don't get lost doing whatever." Annabeth said
"Good, good. Everything ready, then? Questers, prepare for departure tomorrow. Annabeth, if you would please contact Frank before you leave. Everyone else, demigods, go back to your cabins and take your rest. I do not think I have to remind you of the situation? No going out of the borders. Be vigilant. Goodnight!" Chiron said, trotting back to the Big House. I started to head to the Hecate cabin with my siblings, but I decided that maybe I could take the longer route through the beach and the forest then circling back to our end, so I could think over tomorrow.
I passed the climbing wall, which was spewing its ever-flowing lava, and I looked up just in time to see a stray chunk of lava hurtling to me. Acting on instinct (and on ADHD), I put both hands up and yelled,
"ASPIS!" A blue force field separated me from the lava chunk and it slid off the shield. When I looked up again, the shield was gone. Great. It's not only the Mist disappearing, but magic is also weakening.
I reached the beach and kicked some sand. Why is this happening now? I was supposed to be at school with my friends, especially Jaz. She seems to be the only one who understands me outside of camp. I sat on the beach and looked at the waves. Sometimes I see Percy coming here too since he's the son of Poseidon. I guess it just calms him down like it does me. I stared on the horizon, not caring about the threat of the cleaning harpies. They never bother me, since the last time where I turned them into actual chickens. Yeah, that was fun.
I blinked for a sec and saw that I was in some sort of cavern with some sort of sputtering light inside. I followed it to find a woman chained to a rock, and I instantly know she's a goddess, I just do not know who. She wore blue-gold robes and the light was coming from her. She would flare up then blink out gasping, staring grumpily at the shackles that bound her hands to a pillar of stone. She suddenly looked at me and said, "Free me, child. Or the world shall be filled with Darkness. Free me!"
When I blinked again, I was back on the beach, and judging from the position of the stars and moon in the sky, I haven't been gone long. I do not know who she is, but I'll ask in Athena Cabin in the morning. They probably know who she is. For now, I think I should go to my siblings and see what's been happening.
I saw Circe (not the original), my younger half0sibling by a year, waiting for me outside the cabin. "Hey, what's up?" I asked her.
"They found it. Or at least, a trail of it. Mom's magic. They did a trace- for experiment-, of course, but and they found a trail of magic leading to China. I don't know how she got there, but the trail sort of lightened and went cold in that country. She might be there." Circe said.
"Thanks, I'll tell Annabeth in the morning. Go to sleep, it's already light's out," I said, clapping my hands and making the whole cabin go dark.
Oh mom, where did you go?
A/N: I watched Infinity War yesterday and after the credits, I was like :[ 0_0. Any Marvel fans here? Great, 'cause I'm DC hahaha
Who do you think is the goddess? Also, I've provided a map of camp, if you could see that. That was my reference for this part.
