I don't know what I expected in College, but not this. due to some destructive battle reasons, Annabeth and I couldn't go to College in New Rome and had to go to mortal uni. Today is our first day and the day went fine, considering that we both had dyslexia and had trouble reading what the professor wrote, but Annabeth basically breezed through everything. that's my Wise Girl.

We were heading out when we heard a scream. We followed it and it led to the cafeteria. Roars could be heard from inside.

"I'll check first, wait here," she said, putting her invisibility cap on.

"Yeah, I'll be right here," I said, not knowing if she was still there. I took out my pen-sword Riptide and uncapped it. The full-length celestial bronze glowed in the cafeteria door. She reappeared beside me.

"It's the minotaur. Attacking a group of kids. I don't know who they are, maybe half-bloods." she said. I pushed the doors open and rushed in to see that she was right. I called out to it.

"Hey, Beefhead!" I yelled. Some of the students stared at me like, who is this guy holding a sword yelling at a cow?

Old beefhead was wearing pants and swinging his trusty old battleax shaped like a Greek omega. He roared when he saw me and charged. I leaped out of the way and sliced my sword at him, disintegrating him into golden dust. The people around were just staring at me and I just wanted to leave.

"Uh, Annabeth? I don't think they're demigods. They're too old," I said. She looked at them and nodded.

"They might be clear-sighted mortals or something. Let me see if I can do what Lou Ellen taught me." She stood in front of them and snapped her fingers, which I knew was a trick to control the Mist. I waited for the feeling of the Mist gathering around her but nothing happened. She snapped again. Still, nothing happened.

"Annabeth, any time now," I said, looking around. The people were still looking at us very frightened. I saw one reach for a phone.

"Annabeth, let's go!" I say, pulling her with me as I ran out. We ran through corridors and hallways until we found the exit. We burst out into the courtyard to find that people there were also staring at my sword.

"What the-" I didn't wait to hear what one guy was saying as we ran through the streets. I did my loudest New York taxi cab whistle and went behind a bush with Annabeth.

"Percy, cap Riptide. If what I think is happening, this is bad. Really bad. We'll have to get to camp.

Right as she said that Blackjack, my pegasus, landed beside us, bringing another pegasus with him, Guido. We mounted them just as the police were rounding the corner.

"Where to, boss?" Blackjack asked.

"Take us to camp, now," I said and they took off the sound of sirens growing fainter behind us.

As soon as we reached camp Annabeth ran to the big house. I thanked Blackjack and Guido and followed her. She was deep in conversation with Chiron.

"Chiron, what happened there, it means that it's gone," Annabeth said.

"I know. Campers, Satyrs, and Nature Spirits from all over are reporting the same thing. We haven't received any word from the gods, I'm afraid, so we'll have to figure something out," Chiron replied.

"What's missing?" I asked.

"The Mist. Percy, the Mist is gone. Something's wrong," Annabeth said.
