"What are they saying?" Piper asked, taking my hand. We were the two people who volunteered to talk with these legacies and demigods to know who exactly they are and what they need. They didn't particularly like us, but they were the ones who saved us from the mortals. There was a child of Iris who made some tricks using light and rainbows to blind the mortals while we ran away. They had kept us in a house arrest ever since, confined to only a small room for the whole group. They know we're also demigods but we still haven't revealed anything to them.

One of the men held the door open as Piper and I walked out. He was in his mid-thirties, with wrinkles on his forehead that meant he was always scrunched up thinking, or he was older than thirty. He had an imperial gold gladius strapped to his side and a scar that ran down the left side of his face from the scalp to the lip. He was smiling crookedly but you could tell that it was a kind smile. He's a good person.

He gestured for us to follow him as he locked the door behind us. The structure of the building was simple, and I could easily tell that it was hastily made, a month at the longest.

"This could fall on us any moment," I announced, looking warily at the walls. There were no visible cracks but if it is as sturdy as I think it is, which is not much, then this place could just as well kill us.

"This place may not look like much, but it has served us well in terms of defense and hiding. Children and legacies of Hephaestus, Athena, and Hestia are tending and working on this building as we speak. They're renovating it to be more comfortable, safer, and more strategic in times like these." The man said with a British accent. "Pardon me for not doing this earlier, but I am Benjamin Richards. Call me Ben. I'm a legacy of Hecate from when they were in Europe,"

"I'm Annabeth, daughter of Athena," I answered, shaking his outstretched hand. I don't know what compelled me to say who I am, but I did. Piper quickly followed suit.

"I'm Piper, daughter of Aphrodite," Piper said. She went quiet after that, waiting for me to speak.

"So, who are you guys?" I asked. Benjamin shushed me and gestured to another room. We stopped in front of what looked like a classroom but was instead used as the Control Room of their movement. There were a dozen computers with people working on them and a single table in the middle with a world map on it. The world map was littered with different colored pins, probably a legend they use. I turn to the only person standing who was looking from the back of one of the people who was furiously typing. I recognized him as the guy who led this group. Ben cleared his throat. The guy addressed him without lifting his eyes from the screen.

"Yes, Ben?" He asked.

"Sir, here are their chosen representatives," Ben answered. We took that as our cue to move forward into the room and introduce ourselves.

"I'm Annabeth Chase, sir. Daughter of Athena." I said. Piper also introduced herself like how she introduced to Ben. We will keep our achievements and other secrets to ourselves for now. No use having everyone recognize us at first sight.

"You're not diluted descendants, eh?" He asked said with a thick Russian accent. "We have so few of those here. Maybe one or two," His w's became v's.

"You're a legacy, then?" Piper asked sweetly, though I could tell she still didn't put her charmspeak into it. The man seemed to think so, too.

"Your charm really is that of a true child of Aphrodite," the man answered. "I'll humor you then. I'm called Spider, a son of Mars," He saw me visibly flinch when he said the word 'spider' but he didn't care. I composed myself and started to talk but Piper beat me to it.

"Sir, if I may ask, why did you save us?" She asked.

"It's simple. You're demigods, we're demigods. We help each other," Spider answered.

"I can feel that he's hiding something," Piper murmured, loud enough for only me to hear. I hid my expression.

"Spider, sir. We're currently on a quest. If it was alright with you, we'd like to go on and accomplish our mission," I said, asking for permission. I know we could probably escape this building if needed, but I'd rather that we were in full force when we face whatever took Hecate.

"What is this quest, then? Is your group from the Greek Camp or the Roman Camp?" Ben asked before Spider could even open his mouth.

"We are from both camps. We're on a quest to save Hecate in order to restore the Mist, which you may have noticed has already failed," I answered him.

Ben looked taken aback. "H-Hecate? She's been captured?"

"Yes. She was last detected to be around China by her children," I said.

"Then that was the reason why the Mist was gone? Why my magic was gone?"

"Why the darkness seems to cover a lot of places now?" Someone from behind a computer spoke up.

"Yes, yes, and no," Piper replied.

"What do you mean Hecate's disappearance isn't the cause of the darkness?" The same person asked again.

"Pardon my group. We have minimal intelligence here, but we can scrape by," Spider apologized. I nodded at him.

"We're still trying to figure out what that darkness is. For now, we're focused on saving the goddess in order to restore the Mist," I said.

"How can we help, then?" Spider asked.

"Simple," I said, then launched into the plan that I thought of while looking at their facilities and members.

A/N: Whoo! that was a long break! School's been getting to me lately but it's okay now. I'll try to update again next week!
