I woke up in a dark cell. I don't even remember what happened after Hecate got free, just some random flashes of light and screaming. I was hit on the head by someone behind me. I heard shuffling from behind me and turned around, one hand on the wall to help me keep my bearings.
"Who's there?" I asked.
"Percy? is that you?" The familiar voice replied. The person went closer and I could see their face.
"Reyna? What are you doing here? where are we?" I asked her.
"I don't know, Percy. The soldiers took us and drugged us. I just woke up here," She answered. "What about the others? What happened to you?"
"We got Hecate free, but we were also attacked by soldiers, I think," I replied. "I don't remember what happened next,"
"Don't worry, we'll figure this out. Can you see outside?" She asked. That's when I realized that I had pockets and that I had riptide. I brought it out and uncapped it, lighting the cell with a bronze glow.
The cell was bare except for the two of us and two -are those operating tables? in the far corner. Looking around, I realized that it wasn't a cell, but a room. There was a door close to us and Reyna tried it but to no avail. We tried kicking it and I even hacked at it with riptide but it didn't budge. Reyna said it must have been reinforced with godly metal so not even celestial bronze could cut it.
There was nothing we could do. With my ADHD, I couldn't stay still and I was walking and jumping around the room. Until after what felt like an eternity, the lights turned on. The glare hurt my eyes and I had to raise my arm to block the glare. When I felt that it was bearable, I lowered my arm and saw the door open. There was a guy who came in, looking very much like a mortal doctor. He had with him two buff bodyguards that had celestial bronze weapons, so they must be demigods.
"Welcome, my dears," he said. His blonde hair looked almost bleached in the white glare of the lights. I tried to focus on the bodyguards instead. They looked like twins, with the body and face that can only belong to children of Ares. What are they-
"Who are you and what are we doing here?" Reyna asked, interrupting my thoughts.
"Ah, my dear. I am called Jaspar," his accent was very thick and sounded European but I do not know what. Annabeth was the one good at these things. Oh yeah, where is Annabeth? "I am the head doctor of this institute, and you, my dears, are here to help us learn more about your kind,"
"Our kind?" I asked.
"Yes, boy. Your kind. Halfbreeds. Don't worry, it's not going to hurt," He said, taking two syringes out of his lab coat pocket.
"You'll just be in for a ride,"
A/N: I haven't been able to update in so long since I got so caught up in work but here it is, the ending! Next book will be available in a few weeks, titled "Restored". Did you notice how I made it so Percy couldn't focus much on anything? Is there a reason? What do you think? Stay tuned for the next installment!
