Chapter 27 (Cecil)

I had woken up in a prison cell. All I remember was being gassed outside the Roman camp by police and men wearing combat uniforms. They took all of my weapons so I wouldn't be able to fight. I look around and realize that there were other demigods with me in here, all in our own prison cells. Probably so that we wouldn't be able to help each other. I hear a metal door open and hurriedly go back to my previous position, pretending to be asleep.

"Where will they take these monster kids?" A gruff voice said, coming closer. I had to fight the urge to open my eyes and see who was speaking.

"'eard there was this facility for their kind in Switzerland, gov'ments' goin' to open 'em right up to see what makes 'em tick," another voice replied. I involuntarily shivered and then froze. Did they see that?

"The others were sent there already, weren't they? When will they pick these ones up?" The man with a gruff voice asked.

""morrow's my guess. They don't want people seeing 'em taken there. Issues," the other man replied with a grunt.

The two left quickly after that. When I was sure they were gone, I opened my eyes and sat up. they're bringing us to Switzerland to be experimented on? I need to leave. WE need to leave. I look around and see the others starting to sit up too. 

Aside from me, there were four others in the cells. I notice Sadie in the cell across from me, sitting up groggily. I don't know who the other two were, but it seems we all heard what they said. 

I pointed at Sadie and then at the locks. It seems she got my message as a blue hieroglyph quickly manifested in the air and soft clicks were heard, signaling the opening of the cells. We quietly opened our own cells and stepped out, huddling at the middle.

"We have to get out," I whispered. staring at the metal gate in case the owners of the voices earlier came back again. "Do any of you have weapons?" 

We all check ourselves again and aside from Sadie's magic, came up with nothing. Then the girl beside me took of her clip. which turned into an imperial gold dagger.

"It's not much, but this is all I have. It's imperial gold though, so it will just pass through them," she said in a soft voice. She introduced herself as Malia, a daughter of Mars. which surprised me. She looked so sweet and kind, very much unlike what the children of Ares and Mars were usually.

"I'm a son of Venus. I can use a bit of charmspeak, but it's only weak and will last only five minutes, max," the boy beside Sadie piped up. He was blond and handsome enough to look like an indie movie star.  

We quickly came up with a plan. Sadie will open the metal door for us and the boy, who introduced himself as Russel, will charmspeak anyone we come across so we can run away. We didn't want to wait so Sadie quickly opened the door with another spell and we quietly snuck out, wary of our surroundings.

We were in an empty corridor, and the markings on the doors showed that they were for police files. We followed it to the end and saw two policemen standing behind a counter, watching the news on tv. They were showing a clip of Olympus being invaded by the military, choppers and planes entering the city in the sky with guns blazing. The shield was gone and luckily, there seemed to be no one around. I muttered a silent prayer that the nymphs and the gods were able to escape safely before nodding to Russel. He easily got the two policemen asleep, and Malia and I quickly looted the area of what we might need.

We were able to get three bottles of water, some cash, and a local newspaper. I saw on the date that we were asleep for over a day, and so much has already happened. The cover of the newspaper showed the same scene we saw on television, and the news said that they weren't able to find anyone in the majestic-looking city and that there were giant doors they were still trying to open. A picture on the side of the paper showed the doors to the throne room, which they were still trying to open. 

We also figured out that we were about half a day's ride to Camp Half-Blood and decide to go there first and regroup, and maybe we can find a way to save those who were taken to Switzerland.

I'm back! Though I'm not sure for how long. Still, I'll be putting up chapters when I'm not too busy.

I'll be gone for a while again after this update as I'm preparing for a major exam this week, and after that I'll have to do some personal stuff.
