2016 ― Tree Hill, North Carolina
Haley left to join Chris Keller on tour.
Logan wasn't surprised, but she hated how it affected Nathan. He was devastated, she had never seen him so upset. Since Haley left, he had been leaning on her a bit more and wasn't looking at her with as much disappointment as he had been before, but every time she left for Dan's for the weekend and when she came back on Sunday nights, he always had something snarky to say. She wanted to tell her brother the truth, but she knew he wouldn't be able to let it go. He'd confront Dan, or their Mom about sleeping with Keith and things might get worse.
She couldn't risk it.
She was currently at Dan's house now, it was a Saturday morning. She and Lucas were in the kitchen and she was glad Dan wasn't down there. Every time she was there, all he did was try to engage her in conversation, but she didn't want to talk to him. Throughout the weekend, she either stayed holed up in her room on the phone with Roman or was in Nathan's room with Lucas. She only came out to eat and go to the bathroom.
She didn't want to engage with Dan at all.
"You know, if the Bogans keep drilling threes, the cats will be tough to beat. How'd you sleep?" Dan Scott asked when he came down for breakfast. He had made them all breakfast, but the twins weren't eating.
"Fine," Lucas said.
"I didn't," Logan said. She didn't sleep at all. She spent half the night purging over the toilet because being in the house itself gave her an uncontrollable urge to binge. She felt horrible. She only slept for about 3 hours total.
"Great, both of you grab a plate," Dan said.
"Not hungry," Logan said.
"I, uh... normally get something from the cafe on the way to the river court," Lucas said.
"Come on, both of you, sit. We're civilized here," Dan said as he raised his coffee mug, and then the front door opened. Logan knew it was her Mom. She knew her mom was probably thrilled that Dan told her she had semi-moved back in. She was only here on weekends. She didn't know how she felt about Lucas being there too.
"Dan? I'm home," Deb called out as she walked in.
"We're in the kitchen, Deb," Dan responded. When Deb walked in, she stopped short and a smile spread onto her face when she saw her daughter. Then she noticed Lucas there too and she was so shocked that her smile started to fall.
"Oh... Lucas," Deb said.
"Hey," Lucas said as he looked down at the ground. Logan could immediately tell her brother was uncomfortable because of how her mom reacted to him.
"Uh, where... where's Nathan?" Deb asked.
"Nathan's not here, Deb. Logan has temporarily moved back in, she'll be here on the weekends, and Lucas will also be staying with us for a while," Dan said. Deb looked at Logan with a smile on her face.
"Really? You'll be here every weekend?" Deb asked.
"Looks like it," Logan said as she forced a smile on her face.
"And what!?" Deb asked about Lucas staying there for a while too, which Lucas immediately onto.
"You didn't tell her," Lucas said.
"You two better get going to whatever you had planned today," Dan said. Logan looked at Lucas and nodded.
"Roman will be here any minute, you go ahead," Logan said. Roman was picking her up and they were going to spend the day with Josh, June, and Isabella, their mom, and Leo, their stepdad. Logan loved spending time with Roman's family, and his family loved her too. Lucas nodded as he left out of the front door. Logan turned to her Mom. "Way to make my brother feel welcome, Mom," She said sarcastically.
