You laughed, slapping Changbin's arm. The joke wasn't even that funny. Minho didn't understand why you were even laughing that hard. He watched as you opened your Snapchat to take some pictures to send people before your streaks died. Changbin slid his arm around your waist, pulling you closer, and you nearly fell off the arm of the sofa and into his lap, and you giggled, taking the picture.
Minho had had enough. He decided to head upstairs to his room. He had invited you over to spend time with him. Lately, his schedule had been exhausting. He had been on "Hit the Stage" and other dance competitions, promoting Stray Kids and their songs. All he wanted to do was relax and spend some time with you. Just seeing you smile recharged him, but unfortunately, that smile on your face now wasn't for him but for Changbin.
You looked at your boyfriend's figure disappearing up the stairs and frowned. He didn't look happy. Changbin noticed it, too, and he figured what it might be about. "You should probably go up there. He doesn't look too happy about something," and Changbin immediately regretted how close he was with you, but he also wished Minho would understand you two were just best friends. Besides, Changbin had known you longer than Minho had.
Hesitantly, you tiptoed up the stairs and knocked on Minho's door which he didn't answer. You pushed it open and saw him lying on his bed, a cheek pressed into his pillow.
"Minho?" you asked softly. You took a seat carefully on the edge of his bed, placing a hand on his shoulder. "You okay?"
"I think I should be the one asking that, don't you think?" he shot back. His eyes darted to her confused face for a second, and he groaned. "Do you even like me? You seem to laugh at everyone else's jokes and smile for everyone else. What about me? Did you run out of love... for me?"
Your eyes dawned in realization. "Changbin and I are just friends. I mean, we practically grew up together. He knows how much I care about you, and he'd never put himself in the middle of us like that. I'm sorry if that concerned you. But I also can't ignore my best friend."
Minho was tired. A tear traced down his cheek and disappeared into his pillow. Whatever he said, you had a logical reason backing you up, and he was tired of every single thing making sense. He just wanted you to love him- no complications. He hadn't even seen you in weeks, and this was what just had to happen when he finally did see you. So who cared if Changbin was your best friend.
"Minho-"
He leaned up, cutting you off with a kiss, but it was nothing like you'd felt before. It felt desperate, like he was trying to hold onto something that was about to disappear. You placed your arms on his shoulders, and he wrapped his hands around your waist, pulling you closer. You could read his mind through the kiss, and you understood.
"I love you," you whispered, nuzzling up to him.
Minho wasn't sure if he had heard you correctly. His whole life, he had been trying to always fight for validation. His parents never approved of his dream to dance and sing, and he spent so much of his life trying to be something to his parents. That same feeling carried on with him to whoever he met, including you. He was always insecure and worried that you'd get tired and leave since he was never around. And before a few minutes ago, he wasn't sure if Changbin was just a "best friend" to you.
"You mean the world to me, Minho. I mean it."
Minho smiled, wiping his tears away. "I'm sorry that I'm so sensitive. It's just that I... love you. And I can't help but fall in love with you every time I see you, so it hurts if I see you with someone else. But I know you, and I know you wouldn't hurt me. And I would never hurt you."
You pecked his lips. "Not gonna lie, but you're kinda hot when you're jealous."
