You waved to your mom as she drove away, leaving you at the concert venue. This was the first concert you were going to alone, and honestly, you were nervous. Usually, your friends would come with you, but this time, they were all busy with homework and projects.
That wasn't stopping you, though. You smiled and entered the arena, the crowd's cheers comforting you. However, without your group of friends plowing a path through the people, you found yourself being pushed and shoved until finally you plopped down exhausted in your seat. Another girl pushed you over as she tried to get into her seat and you ended up falling onto the person next to you.
"I'm so sorry-" you began to apologize when you suddenly you stole a glance at the person you'd fallen on. Your words got caught in your throat, and your breath hitched as your eyes met his.
"Don't be. It wasn't your fault," he smiled, and you grinned back at him. He was so good-looking, you were sure he could be an idol one day himself.
"Is there something on my face?" he asked, worriedly.
You blushed and mentally scolded yourself for staring at him for that long. But the more you thought about it, the more you realized that nothing should be holding you back. What were the chances you would ever see this guy again?
"You look like you could be an idol," you smiled shyly. The boy laughed. "Wow, how'd you guess?! I mean... technically, I'm not an idol yet, but I'm working on it."
Your jaw nearly fell open, and you turned towards him in interest, wanting to hear more. "REALLY?! Wait, what group? Have you guys announced when you're debuting? What's it like being an idol trainee?"
The boy laughed again. "Ummm, currently, we're filming a survival debut show, and as of now, our group is called Stray Kids. To be honest, being a trainee is really hard. I wake up super early to catch the bus to school and spend all my free time practicing or attending lessons to strengthen my performance skills. It's a busy life."
You shook your head in pity as you looked towards the stage. You hadn't realized just how much effort and energy it took to land yourself under the spotlight.
"I hope I can stand on a stage like that one day," he sighed.
You felt something stir inside of you. You noticed the dark circles he sported underneath his eyes, and your heart ached when you caught sight of the bruises that dotted his legs.
"I'm sure you will. With the dedication you have, you have to end up on that stage," you tried to comfort him. "The best part about dreams is bringing them to life."
He stared at you with eyes so full of light, they could put the stars in the night sky above you to shame. "That's what my mom tells me every time I go home to visit. She tells me that the best part about falling is picking yourself back up. Or in this case, you fell on me."
And I'm falling for you, but you have no idea you thought with a small smile. "Hey, that was an accident!"
"You think maybe me entering my number in your phone could be an accident, too?"
You blushed. Where'd this guy learn these pickup lines? And why on earth was he using them on someone like you? I mean... you weren't complaining and willingly handed him your phone.
The rest of the night, the two of you enjoyed the concert and screamed the fan chants until you were certain you wouldn't have a voice for the next week or so.
A few months and a lot of text messages later, you were meeting up with Seungmin again. He had asked you to meet him at the same arena where you both had first met, so he could surprise you. Your heart raced as you sat in a seat he had reserved for you at the front. Suddenly, nine boys ran onto the stage, and you easily spotted Seungmin with his beautiful auburn hair.
He exchanged looks with you almost instantly, flashing a smile, and you grinned in return. Seungmin tapped his microphone a couple times before laughing. "Hey everyone, thank you for coming out today. Today is a very special day for two reasons. First, our group Stray Kids is debuting, so thank you so much for all your support until now, and I hope you will continue supporting us."
Your eyes widened in shock. Seungmin had never told you that he would be debuting today. You were so happy for him that tears started flooding your eyes. In those late night texts and early morning check ins, he had always seemed so exhausted. And the couple of times the two of you had met up, he looked worn to the bone. You were glad all that sacrifice and suffering had paid off.
"Wait, there's one more reason. But this one is a little personal." Seungmin paused before his eyes wandered over to you, and the girls in the audience screamed in excitement. "Today, I'm confessing my feelings for someone very special. She taught me that falling isn't all that bad. In fact, falling allows you to pick yourself up and grow stronger. But in this case, falling for her has made me very very weak," he giggled, and the other members in his group cheered wildly.
You looked down and fidgeted with the hem of your skirt as you felt a countless number of eyes on you.
"Alright, enough of the mushy stuff. Let's have some fun!" Seungmin hyped up the arena, and they launched into their debut showcase.
Afterwards, you met up with Seungmin backstage, and he immediately enveloped you in a hug. He rested his chin on your head as he held you.
"Did you really mean what you said out there? You like me? Why me out of all people?" you bombarded him with questions, but part of you cursed yourself. What if your questions made him doubt him choosing you.
Seungmin laughed, wrapping his arms around you even tighter. "Do I need a reason to love you, hmm?"
Your arms encircled his waist as you placed a quick kiss on his cheek, unable to find words to answer him.
Seungmin pulled away from you for a second as he struggled to pull something out of his back pocket, and when he held them in front of you, the two of you cracked up maniacally. In his hands were two VIP GOT7 tickets. "Just don't fall on or for anyone else this time," he winked.
