Jisung slipped his white t-shirt over his head.  For some reason, he felt that this shirt was the perfect match for his pair of ripped black jeans he was wearing.  Yeah, black went with just about everything.  He knew that.  But for some reason, this exact shirt tied the combination together.  His black denim jacket was the last thing he threw on before grabbing his backpack and hopping into the bus at the end of his block.  His best friend Bang Chan was already on the bus.  He lived in the neighborhood next to Jisung's.  But instead of the empty spot that usually rested beside his friend, it was occupied by you.

Chan noticed Jisung sit in the row across the aisle, and he waved at him, wishing him a good morning.

"Oh, and this is my friend Y/N.  She moved from Daegu, so she'll be attending our high school from now on."

You whipped your head around to see who Chan was talking to, your short hair bobbing.

"That's cool," Jisung murmured, shutting his eyes and trying to grab a few extra minutes of sleep before getting to school.

Jisung woke up to Chan nudging his shoulder, letting him know they'd arrived, and he shouldered his backpack.  The school was flooded with students rushing to get to their classes.  Jisung simply shoved his hands in the pockets of his ripped jeans, wading through the crowd to get to homeroom.

He found his seat by the window.  He liked it because there was a shortage of students in their class meaning some students had the whole table to themselves.  Jisung liked his space.  The teacher walked in with a new student, and he realized it was you, the girl sitting next to Chan on the bus.

"Hi, my name's Y/N, and I'm actually from Daegu and moved here a couple days ago.  Apologies in advance for the satoori, but I hope you guys can look out for me and help me fit in.  Um, as far as hobbies go, I like eating and sleeping.  Um, I won't do either in there," you glanced at the teacher who shot you a concerned look.  It was something you had grown used to seeing, but you couldn't hide your expressive personality.  It was your point feature.

You scanned the room, looking for a spot to sit and immediately laid eyes on the guy Chan knew, but he looked tired, and you didn't want to bother him, so you took a seat at the table behind him with some guy who introduced himself as Kim Yugyeom.

Jisung saw you walking over and moved his backpack that was in the empty seat to the floor, making space for you, but you had been oblivious to it all, walking right past him, and his expression fell slightly, but he got over it in three seconds.  Unlike other people, he didn't really let anything get to him.  And the only thing that could was persistence.  For example, water could eventually cut rocks with a rhythmic drip.

Class ended, and Jisung packed up his notebook and pencil, heading to his locker to grab his gym clothes before closing the door, the lock clicking back in place.  And standing right next to him was you, fidgeting with the lock of the cubby two down from his.  Nothing much, he spun on his heel and walked towards the gym.

Jisung easily spotted his friends Hyunjin and Jinyoung on the basketball court.  And as usual, Hyunjin was staring in awe as Jinyoung showed him the ways behind the hoops.  Jinyoung was everyone's favorite senior, along with Jooheon that is.  It wasn't long before Jooheon joined them and standing beside him was a familiar face.

You smiled, bowing at the other people before your hands wandered over to Jisung.

"This is Y/N.  So remember how I'm originally from Daegu?  It turns out Y/N's from the same hometown as me!  Isn't that so cool!  She transferred here today!"

Jisung was confused.  Usually the seniors only interacted with each other unless there was some special connection, like basketball to Hyunjin and Jinyoung.  And both Jisung and you were sophomores.

"Whoa, you're from Daegu?" Jinyoung handed the ball over to Hyunjin, walking over.  "And you transferred today?"

You nodded.  "Jinyoung, right?  Jooheon was telling me about you on the way here.   I actually used to be on the girl's basketball team back home, so maybe we can shoot some hoops together."

"Whoa, that'd be awesome!  I'm not going easy on you, either," Jinyoung grinned.  "Alright, I'll let you get to class.  Jooheon, make sure you take care of her!"

Jisung decided to head to Chan's house after school.  He didn't want to go straight home and do homework.  Plus Chan and he wanted to work on songwriting a little.  He got on the bus taking the same seat he sat in this morning.  And of course, right before the doors of the bus closed, you ran on, panting and out of breath.

"Sorry," you apologized to the bus driver, trudging to the seat across the aisle and plopping down.  Jisung was starting to get irritated by how many times he was running into you.  Like he had mentioned earlier, he hated persistence.

He got up when the bus reached the stop across from Chan's house, and sure enough, you were right behind him.  Jisung spun on his heel, his bottom lip turned downward in a scowl.  "Why are you following me?  Don't you have anything better to do?  I mean, if you wanted to talk to me that badly then you could have just said something.  Following me around is not only annoying, but it's starting to get creepy.  You seem to know all my friends, and I see you everywhere.  I'm tired of you, and I don't even know you."

You grimaced at his his harsh words, tears welling up in your eyes.  "Um, I live here," you pointed at the house next to Chan's, and Jisung felt like he had been slapped across the face.  "I'm sorry that I just tried to make friends.  I'll, um, just stick to myself.  Sorry for bothering you."  The tears finally fell, and Jisung grabbed your wrist, stopping you from leaving.

"Wait.  Y/N... I, um, didn't mean it like that.  How about we go to my favorite ice cream place nearby?  We can start over-"

"That's okay.  I'd rather not," you sighed, wiping your cheeks with your sweater sleeve.

Jisung let go of your wrist.  "It took me so long to make friends and establish a place I call home.  I'm not very good with words, and I don't have too bold of a personality, and I only open up once I get comfortable.  It's hard for me to adjust to any situation because I don't know how to make friends.  And when I try, it usually goes horribly wrong."

"Really?"  You turned to look at him.  "Um, wanna cry it out together over ice cream?"

You got a scoop of pistachio almond.  It was definitely the most underrated flavor.  Jisung, on the other hand, had gone for chocolate with brownie bites in it.

"So about what I was saying earlier, it's just kinda hard for me to make friends.  With Chan... ummm I called him the wrong name for two months before he finally said something."

You laughed, slapping the table.  "That's priceless.  But I bet you guys got super close after that.  Gosh, that's embarrassing."

Jisung chuckled, nodding.  "So, tell me about you.  Um, wait, one question, though.  Why didn't you sit by me this morning in homeroom?"

"You looked like you kinda hated the world, to be honest.  There were dark circles under your eyes, and you just looked overall really tired.  I didn't want to bother you.  So, um, I sat with the guy behind you.  What was his name again?  Yugbam?"

"Yugyeom," Jisung corrected you.  "Looks like you're not too hot with names yourself."

You looked straight into his eyes, leaning forward.  "Well, I'll never forget your name, Han Jisung."
