I walk into school and head towards my locker. I see Kevin standing there waiting for me. "Hey girl," he says stepping away from my locker so I can open it.

"Hey Kev" I reply opening my locker and stuffing my bag into it.

"Why did you leave so early yesterday?"

Here we go.

"You know how Archie made me go with him to talk?" I ask shutting my locker and Kevin links his arm with mine.

"Yeah..."

"Well, Archie and I-"

He cuts me off. "Oh good god, did you and Archie hook up?"

"Ew no, I've got a boyfriend, remember? Bedsides Archie was being an asshole and I didn't want to deal with that so I left."

"Oh."

"Anyway, how's your relationship with Joaquin?" A blush covers his cheeks when he hears Joaquin's name.

"Good, but it sucks that we have to sneak around."

"I'm sure you two will be able to be seen together soon."

"Hopefully."

I walk out of the last class of the day and go to my locker. I grab my backpack out and shut the door, seeing Jughead standing there. "What's going on between you and Archie?" he asks.

"Nothing..." I lie.

"I don't think it's nothing, you two aren't talking and you're trying your best to avoid him."

"Ok, you wanna know why I'm ignoring Archie?" He nods. "It's because he said something about mine and Sweet Pea's relationship, when's he's the one dating the music teacher," I rant but quickly cover my mouth after I realise what I said.

"Wait, Archie's screwing around with Ms Grundy?" he asks, shock written all over his face.

Nodding, I remove my hand from over my mouth. "Don't tell him I told you that."

"I promise I won't tell him or anyone" he replies. "Wanna hang out at Pop's? I want to do some more writing and we haven't hung out together for a while. Just the two of us, like the old days."

"Sure, wouldn't mind having a peaceful afternoon." He smiles and adjusts the strap of his bag on his shoulder.

"Shall we?" he says, nodding towards the front entrance of the school. I nod and follow him down the crowded hallway.

Jughead and I spent a good three hours sitting in Pop's drinking milkshakes, chocolate to be specific. But, that was until Betty called him informing him about some "investigation" the two of them are currently working on. Maybe, something about the rumours of a sugarman dealing drugs to the kids in Riverdale. Who knows what those two Sherlocks like to investigate.

It must have been pretty important for him to rush off like he did, leaving me alone at Pop's; after saying goodbye of course.

"You know, I kind of expected better from you." I look up and see Reggie Mantle, the leader of the Bulldogs, standing in front of the booth I'm sitting in.

"I'm sorry, what?" I look at him with confusion clearly expressed on my face.

"I saw you with that Southside scum before school yesterday," he says. "We're Northsiders, we're not supposed to affiliate with those snakes because we are better than them."

Does he realise how ridiculous he sounds right now?

I roll my eyes at him and look down at the table, hoping he'll take that as a sign that the conversation is over. But no, instead he sits down across from me. "He's a Serpent, Karisma," he says and I look back at him. "Your little boy toy is a Serpent, and you're not. Dating a Serpent is practically treason. The thing about snakes is... they always bite."

"You're right, they do always bite," someone adds. I look over Reggie's shoulder and see Toni standing there, arms crossed and a stern look on her face. She approaches the table and looks down at Reggie. "Some are even venomous bites. I'd watch out if I were you."

"Remember I warned you when he breaks your heart and you come running back," Reggie says, looking at me before walking off; making sure to glare at Toni.

"Thank you for that, if you dint step in he'd probably go on for hours," I say and Toni chuckles softly.

"Us girls gotta stick together."
