Chapter 36.

Skip A Few Weeks

Jughead and I walk inside Southside High, and I see security scanners at the start of the hallway. "I knew this school was bad, but not bad to the point they need security scanners" I whisper to Jughead, tightening my grip on my back.

"Well, I guess we're going to have to get used to it, it's our new school" Jughead whispers back.

I walk through the security scanner with no problems, but when Jughead walks through it goes off. "Your pins," I say, pointing to Jughead's beanie.

"It's my pins," he says to the guard. The guard makes Jughead take out the pins and walk through again.

"Well isn't Jughead and Karisma Jones" I hear a familiar voice says. Jug and I look around trying to see who said our names and we see Toni walking up to us. Turns out she's our tour guide for the day.

It's morning break right now and I was told to meet in the cafeteria. I walk into the cafeteria and see Toni, Fangs and Sweet Pea talking to Jughead at the far back of the cafeteria. Sweet Pea looks up and sees me standing at the entry of the cafeteria. He signals me to comes over and I start making my way past all the students, which I must say are quite taller than me. Toni says something to Jug then he walks off and sits alone at a table.

As I make my way over to Sweet Pea, I feel a hand grip my waist and I turn around to see some random guy. "Can I help you?" I ask, sassily.

"You're hot" the greasy haired boy replies, he smells like sweat and cigarettes.

"Thanks, but I'm not interested," I say, pushing him off me, and I start to walk away. The guy grabs me again and pulls me right up against his body.

"I didn't ask now did I?" He asks, sliding his hand down my back, and my reaction is to punch him in the face.

"It's 2018 asshole, learn what no fucking means," I say, walking away from the guy laying on the ground. He gets up and starts following me again, but before he can do anything else Sweet Pea grabs me and gently pushes me behind him.

"Leave her the hell alone, she's taken" Sweet Pea yells, sternly, and the guy backs off. "You ok?"

"If the Ghoulies see you sitting without the Serpents they'll go for you, we already warned your brother but he refused to listen," Toni says, looking over at Jughead.

"I can't leave him by himself" I reply.

"But I don't want you to get hurt," Sweet Pea says, putting his hand on my lower back.

"I know but I'm sorry, I have to sit with Jughead" I reply, apologetically.

"Just be careful," Fangs says.

"I will" I reply, then walk over to Jughead and sit down next to him.

I sit in the student newspaper room with Jughead, since he somehow managed to get the school to reopen. I sit in there doing my homework, while Jughead got things situated in the Red And Black, which is the name of the schools' newspaper.

"I'm going to use the restroom," I say, getting out of my seat, and Jughead nods.

I put down my books and walk out of the room, turning on my flashlight as I enter the dark hallway.

As I was in the bathroom, I got a text from Jughead saying he would meet me out the front with our stuff. I walk down the hallway and hear a bunch of noise coming from the end of the hallway. I run down the hallway to see if it's Jug, and I see a bunch of Ghoulies beating him up, I start fighting them to get them off Jughead and let's just say I won but didn't leave with a fair share of bruises and cuts.
