Willow felt her phone vibrate in her lap. She looked at the caller ID, it was Matthew calling again. Willow sighed as she put her phone on silent.

"What's wrong?" Jack asked, a bemused look on his face.

"Nothing," Willow answered with a shrug.

Jack patted her thigh lightly and said, "We'll be there soon."

Willow took a deep breath, she didn't like the close contact. It felt different when Matthew had touched her thigh. She almost shuddered at the memory of his hand leaving its hot imprint of desire as it traveled up her leg.

Their car stopped before a sign that read 'Club Lucifer'.

Willow gave Jack a disbelieving look. "I thought we were going to a quiet bar somewhere."

He sent her a mischievous smile. "You thought wrong."

Checking her phone, she saw four more missed calls from Matthew Burns.

Willow also received a message from Giana. Where you at?

Willow replied. Going to Club Lucifer with Jack... This may have been a bad idea.

Giana's reply was almost immediate. Girl, what have you gotten yourself into? Do you need me to pick you up?

Willow almost laughed, and wrote out a quick reply. I'll be fine. I won't be out long, I just wanted to piss off Mr. Burns, but I'm starting to think this will backfire.

Giana's reply was short and to the point. Good luck.

With that, Willow put away her phone and followed Jack out of the car.

It was early on a Friday night, but the line for Club Lucifer was already wrapping around the building. Jack confidently strutted to the entrance, Willow hesitantly followed behind him.

"Hey Jack," said the gruff-looking bouncer at the front.

"How you doing?" Jack replied.

The bouncer opened the door for them. "Have a good night Jack," he called out.

This place was wildly different from the bar Matthew had taken her to only a week prior. The walls were blood red and the floor consisted of black tiles. The dance floor was packed and the bar was no better. Jack grabbed hold of Willow's hand as he moved closer to the bar.

"Let's get you that drink," he whispered into her ear.

Willow could only nod, overwhelmed by the loud and voracious atmosphere of the club.

They finally made it to the bar; the bartender quickly spotted her and Jack and wiped down a spot for them.

The behavior of the employees made it all too easy for Willow to deduce what was going on.

"Let me guess," she sighed, "you own this club."

Jack turned to grin at her, the red lighting gave him a devilish appearance. "You're right," he stated.

They sat down and the bartender came over to take their drink order.

"I'll have a Manhattan," Willow said.

"Scotch, straight up," Jack said.

Their drinks were promptly made and when they were placed in front of them, Jack settled in.

Willow took a sip before turning her attention to Jack. "So what did you want to talk about?"

Jack gave her a smile. "Straight to business then I see," he stated.

"I'm not in the mood for your flirtatious games today," she replied.

He sighed before taking a swig of his scotch. "I don't know what Matthew told you, but I'm going to guess it wasn't good. I know I've made some mistakes in the past, but I'm not the bad guy that Matthew makes me out to be."

Willow stayed silent, watching him carefully.

"He's just upset," Jack continued, "I used to flirt around a lot, particularly at work, and it turns out that I got involved with a woman Matthew was seeing. Honestly, it wasn't my fault, I had no idea she was seeing Matthew and she never told me. But since then he's been trying to destroy my reputation."

Willow awkwardly squirmed in her chair. Jack's story may fit the narrative, but she still wasn't sure if she could trust him.

He placed a hand on her thigh for the second time that night, his steely eyes locked with hers. "Willow, you're driving me crazy. I can't stop thinking about you, I want to be with you."

She tried pushing his hand off of her thigh, this felt wrong. Mr. Burns's face flashed before her eyes, and she knew that the only man she wanted touching her was Matthew Burns.

"Jack, I-" before she could continue speaking, an arm wrapped around Willow's chest and a voice from behind her spoke, "Get your hand off of her before I break it."

Mr. Burns had arrived.
