My eyelids fluttered open and I became more aware of my body and surroundings.  I was in Connor's arms.  "Hey," he chuckled.  I sat up, "Did I fall asleep?"  "Yeah, it's alright though, you weren't asleep for that long." Connor assured, giving a small smile.  I sighed in relief.

"Connor, when we go back to school, what will happen?  Will we tell everyone about.... us, or will we keep it a secret?" I questioned, giving a concerned look.  I knew Connor was thinking by his expression.  He frowned.

"Ev, as much as I'd like our love to be noticeable and public, we might have to keep it a secret.  I love you, and I'm not ashamed of you, but rumors spread like wildfire and if we don't keep distant, we could easily get into something that wouldn't be okay for you.  You're sensitive, and I care about you more than I care about myself.  I'm an outcast at school.  A delinquent.  If someone were to figure out you had any relation to me as more than friends, things could get out of hand.  They wouldn't only hurt me, they'd...." he trailed off.

I frowned before he continued, "They'd hurt you."  I voiced, "I understand,"  He gave me a sincere look as I reached up and cupped his face with my hand.  I rubbed small circles on his cheek with my thumb.  I pulled him into a brief kiss, feeling him smile into it.

I love him.  That answers my question.  What do I think of Connor?  He's the greatest.  Can I see a future with Connor?  Of course.  He's my lover.  It may be early, but I consider him everything.  Connor's phone rang, a song playing.  He groaned dramatically, pulling out his phone.  He lifted the phone to his ear, "What do you want?"

...

"Yeah, yeah, okay,"

...

"I hate you."

...

"Okay, bye bitch,"

Connor pressed a button, stuffing the phone in his pocket.  "I gotta go.  But before I go, are you sure you can keep a secret?" he asked, giving a concerned and hopeful look.  "Of course.  For you, Con." I smiled, giving an assuring nod.  Connor and I agreed to meet up somewhere before he exited.

~Time skip brought to you by my two friends fighting over my brother~

The next day, after school, Connor and I met up in our usual spot.  Connor smiled at me, taking my hand and leading me behind the school.  Once we were out of sight from anyone, he gave me a passionate kiss.  I tucked his hair behind his ear, kissing back.

We broke the kiss, foreheads still connected as we stared into one another's eyes.  I love him.  I say that so much because it's true.  It makes me feel better just thinking that I have someone to love who loves me in return.  I stared into his mesmerizing blue eyes, that one unique brown streak on his right.

He kissed me once again before we pulled away from one another.  "Hey, gays," I heard a familiar voice.  Connor looked past my shoulder, smiling, "Hey, Jare."  "Hey Con, hey Ev.  How's it goin' with the new relationship?" he asked in a taunting tone, yet both Connor and I knew he was joking.

Connor rolled his eyes jokingly, "It's alright,"  Zoe and Sab approached the three of us boys.  Sab grabbed my hand and grabbed Connor's.  She linked our hands and I blushed, looking at Connor.  Zoe took a picture.  "This is going in the Treebros shrine," she said, saving the picture and editing it.  "Send that to me, Zo," Sab giggled, happy to see her ship in action.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Connor facepalm.  I laughed a little.  Connor then turned his head toward me, "Hey, actually, Ev.  I was wondering if you'd like to come over."  I smiled, a little hesitant, "Yeah, of course, I'll have to call my mom first, though."  Connor nodded in understanding as I put down my bag, taking out my phone.

I heard Connor and Jared have a conversation behind me, Zoe and Sab joining in.  I turned on my phone, tapping on my mom's contact before walking away from the noise.  I let the phone ring for a bit, taking a breath when the ringing was replaced with a voice.

"Evan?  Do you need something?"

"I was wondering if I could hang out at Jared's, we already have an upcoming test and he fell asleep during class, so I need to catch up with him.  Could I stay out for a bit?"

"Yes, of course darling!  I'm so glad that you and Jared are hanging out more.  I knew he'd be a good friend for you,"

I laughed a bit, "Yeah,"

I heard someone yelling from the other line as my mom's voice returned.

"I have to go, sweetheart.  I'll be back home around eleven if you aren't sleeping over at Jared's.  I love you,"

"Love you too,"

"Bye!"

"Bye,"

I hung up, holding my phone to my side as I went to put it back in my bag.  Connor walked toward me, "What'd she say?"  I responded, "She said I can go,"  Connor nodded, looking to Zoe.  Zoe joined Connor and I, leaving Jared and Sab alone.

As we walked back home just like every day, I felt Connor grab my hand.  He intertwined our fingers and I looked up at him.  He just smiled.  I giggled a little, flustered.  "Man, how things have turned around," Zoe laughed.  I nodded, Connor just giving us a confused look.

Connor didn't know about Zoe's and my past relationship.  We broke up over the summer, but we're still close friends.  Connor would freak if he knew about it, which is why we never told him.  Zoe and I exchanged glances, smiling at one another.

Connor seemed to notice, as he voiced, "Is there or was there something going on between you two that I wasn't aware of?"  I shook my head frantically, Zoe exclaiming, "Yep!"  My head snapped to Zoe, glaring at her.

"Oh," Connor tucked a lock of hair behind his ear, looking down.  "B-But we aren't anymore!" I assured.  He chuckled, nodding, "It's alright, Ev,"

"L-Let's just go!"
