Liana cried for a long time afterward.
Emilia had tried to ask her what was wrong and that only made her cry even harder because she couldn't tell her.
She couldn't tell her that the man she cared about and had wanted to love; had confessed his love for her but they couldn't be together. That that man was married and worked for her father.
It was all such a terrible mess and she just wanted to cry herself into oblivion.
Antonio's declaration of love should have been something to be happy about but she couldn't be happy when she couldn't have him.
She kept going over it in her head; how could he have propositioned her with something like this if he loved her?
He had been right about one thing at least, whatever it was between them wouldn't go away because she was still crying about it a week later.
She was still in Connecticut, avoiding talking to Emilia because she had no way of explaining what was going on with her. Her friend had let is go but she knew Emilia was worried about her.
Until, she was feeling more like herself again, she would just have to avoid speaking with her too much.
She also had the added pressure of being a part of both her brother and Saima's weddings; the former's being a little sooner then she would like. From what she understood, it was all a bit of a mess with her brother and his marriage situation so she was trying to keep out of the way of it as much as possible.
Liana sat in her bedroom going over some assignments when her landline rang. It was the early evening and she wasn't expecting to hear from anyone but answered anyway,
"Hello?"
"Liana its Dad,"
"Hey Papa Bear, how are you?"
"Emphatically livid with your brother but that's besides the point."
"Whats wrong?"
"Nothing you need to worry your pretty little head about but I do need a favour from you."
"Anything papa,"
"Good, I called on the landline to check you were home. I need you to drop something to New York for me; specifically Antonio Sabbatini's office; you remember him from the other day don't you?"
Liana was positive she swallowed her tongue at that moment,
"W-what?"
"Antonio Sabbatini; he's the lawyer handling this Aldovia debaucle and..."
"I know Dad, I mean...what is it your asking me to do?"
Leo went on to explain that he had stupidly left some documents in his safe at the New York apartment that Antonio would need and wanted Liana to bring them to him. He was on his way to Aldovia and so couldn't make the extra trip to America
"Can't you get one of your minions to do it?"
"Liana, you know no one outside of the family knows the safe combination. I wouldn't trust that information with anyone but us."
