Liana had taken the time she needed away from Antonio and it was killing her.
She was back in Massachusetts getting through a ton of assignments because she'd had to go away for her brother Andro's wedding but that had suddenly been called off. Her mother had briefly explained that the princess Andro was to marry was sick and nothing could go on while she was indisposed.
Calling off the wedding had created a lot of work for Antonio and so when he eventually returned from Aldovia with her father; he had returned to New York and she spent a few nights with him there before returning.
When they weren't able to be physically together, the weeks spent apart, they spoke every day and during one of those talks, Antonio had dropped the bomb that he had told his wife about her. Liana had been mortified that she was now seen as the other woman but Antonio had reassured her that things could only get better from this point on.
No more sneaking around, no more having to leave to get home because he could stay out and not have to make up a lie about where he was.
She knew in a terrible way that it was better; but in the other more obvious way; it wasn't.
Now that his wife knew he was seeing someone else; why wouldn't he leave her?
She didn't want to ask him but it was bugging her more and more every day.
In the weeks' she had gone back to school, he had flown to see her when Emilia was away for any reason and she itched to ask him every time. There were no more barriers if Olivia knew so why not just divorce her and get it over with so they could be together?
Antonio was so much happier now that she didn't want to be the person to upset him over something he'd said emphatically couldn't change.
"Oh God," Emilia was saying as she lay on their couch one afternoon. "I cant have any more sex!"
"Excuse me!" Liana almost choked on her bowl of Coco Pops as she burst out laughing.
They were home revising and had taken some time out to chill between work. Liana was sat on a single lounger in her pyjamas while Emilia stretched out on the couch.
"Julian is a sexaholic! Morning, noon and night!"
"I live here, I know!" Liana said rolling her eyes with a cheeky smile as Emilia blushed.
"I'm sorry!" Liana shrugged. "Thank God I'm on my period, at least I can get a break!" Emilia said with a laugh as she continued to lounge but as the words left her friends mouth, Liana had the most terrible thought...
Casually she took out her phone and opened the calendar app. She was due on...a week ago.
She knew periods could be a little iffy sometimes but hers were usually on time and she and Antonio always used protection...
Liana jumped as her phone rang and she saw it was Antonio,
"Hey," she said quietly as she got up to take the call in her room. She shut the door and lay on her bed.
"Hey yourself, how are things?" Liana thought about the terrifying thought that had entered her mind earlier.
"Things are fine...how are things with Aldovia?"
"Not great. The princess is out of her coma but there's still a way to go with the deal and her father. Your brother is handling things as best he can at the moment."
"I see, and my parents?"
"Returned to London but enough about them...when can I see you?" Liana smiled despite herself.
