Liana didn't leave her room until it was time to head back to school.
She had breakfast with her father who left early for various meetings then got ready for the flight to Connecticut.
Her father had organised a driver for her, who dropped her to the airport and got her onto her father's jet once again.
She was back in her apartment in a few hours and lay on the bed exhausted and it had nothing to do with the journey.
Married.
Antonio was married! He had a wife and even though her father didn't mention it, he most likely had a kid or two; he was so much older than her after all.
She couldn't believe how stupid she'd been.Of course, he was married, why else had he been trying to avoid her like the plague!
She lay on her bed, refusing to cry but feeling desolate at the thought of being used so incredibly. Then, as the pity set into her mind, she realised that while he had used her, she had actively pursued him after he'd tried to stay away.
Liana's mind began to race at the all the conversations they'd had, all the things he'd said to try and stay away from her.
"Because I had to."
"You're beautiful and young and have your whole life ahead of you...you don't need any of this."
"I didn't want to see your face when I told you that I had nothing to offer you."
Nothing to offer.
He knew he was married and that their relationship could never go anywhere but he'd slept with her anyway, continuously!
No matter how she had tried to purdue him, she knew that he was the guilty party here on all accounts. She hadn't known she was going after a married man gut he had known that he had a wife at home.
Is that how much he didn't respect her, or think she was worth anything.
That he could continue to have his bit on the side as though she were disposable.
But he tried to end it...repeatedly.
There in was the problem, what she kept going back to. If he was such a bad guy and wanted to use her as a bit of fun, why had he tried to stay away from her so vehemently?
Even yesterday, in her father's house she had blackmailed him into continuing to sleep with her on threat of ruining his career.
What type of person did that make her?
It was then that Liana began to cry, because she could hear in her own thoughts that she was making excuses for him, trying to find a reason why this was her fault.
"He lied to you!" she hissed at herself, angry that she even had to convince herself of his wrongdoings.
Liana lay on her bed with her head buried in her sheets when her phone began to ring. Lifting her head, she looked at the display name and sure enough,
ANTONIO
What on earth was she supposed to say to him?
She needed to yell at him, scream at him, curse him, tell him to crawl back into the hole he came out of but she didn't want to.
She hated that after so short a time, she had grown feelings for Antonio that she didn't want to give up even after finding out about his infidelities.
It just wasn't fair!
Why did the first guy she was remotely interested in after Chris have to be a married man twelve years older than her and working for her father.
How about that for complications.
The phone stopped ringing and moments later, a text message followed:
Call me when you get this
Liana picked up the phone and stared at the preview message for a while before taking a deep breath and opening it. She knew once she did that he could see she'd read it, so carefully, she typed out her response.
You got what you wanted.
Its over.Straight
To the point. She didn't have to hear his pathetic excuses about why he was a cheat, and she didn't have to give him up to his face.
As much as it hurt her and she hated having to end things with him, it didn't mean she wouldn't do it.
She wouldn't be the other woman to any man.
As he said, she had her whole life ahead of her and there was no sense in wasting another moment of it on him.
Her phone immediately began to ring and again she ignored it, this time physically declining the call.
Antonio called her four more times after that before the messages came rolling in:
What has changed?
Liana talk to me!
Liana call me back now
Why wont you answer??!
What happened?
Angrily, Liana picked up the phone and replied with:
ASKYOUR WIFE!
