Antonio lay in the bed of a luxurious hotel room hours later with Liana asleep beside him.
They were spooning, her hands palmed under her face; his arm stretched over her protectively. She felt wonderful beneath his fingers; her skin smooth and unblemished.
He lay there, resting on his elbow just watching her sleep and knew that he loved her.
He didn't know why or how but he cared about this young woman more deeply than he had ever felt about Olivia in a longer period of time.
He had grown to love Olivia, which of course wasn't a bad thing but it was nothing like this pulsating almost living thing that was between he and Liana.
He would kill any man, woman or beast to protect her or made her unhappy and as far as he could see; he was the only one doing that...by staying away from her.
The obvious thing then would be to stay together; as she had finally agreed.
She was his and he would do all he good to keep it that way for as long as he could despite what had changed drastically with Olivia.
He had agreed to try for a baby.
Not in the natural way of course, but ecstatic that she was finally opening herself up to a future; that she was trying at the very least had made him want to agree.
That, and the fact that he believed Liana lost to him forever.
If he couldn't have Liana and his wife was willing to try to be happy then why not have a baby?
But then Leonardo had called and said Liana would be dropping off the files he needed.
They had been given a second chance and he couldn't, no...he wouldn't mess up his one chance to be happy with the woman who actually made him happy.
He lowered his head to kiss her temple; trailing a finger over her exposed nipple as he did so.
She stirred for a moment before turning over completely but without opening her eyes;
"Some of us are trying to sleep," she said softly as she snuggled into him. Antonio kissed her forehead,
"Some of us have to leave soon...I'm sorry."
She opened her eyes then and the sadness in them made him angry,
"Listen," he said. "I know we haven't discussed things properly but I want this to work as best we can."
"I do too,"
"Then please don't look at me like that whenever I have to leave," he said, lowering his head to kiss her.
"I cant help it," she said against his lips. "I know where you'll be going."
Antonio sighed as he pressed his forehead to hers;
"Yes, there are times I'll be going home but other times, like now; I'll be going back to the office or a meeting or even the gym. Its not always about...home."
He knew he was being a coward but he didn't want to say her name or acknowledge Olivia as his wife while he and Liana were together.
"I know that, I do...its just going to be hard that's all."
"I know...I know." Antonio lowered his head to kiss and soon their kisses turned into something else entirely.
While Liana was in the shower, Antonio let Tina know he would be returning to the office soon and to let Olivia know that he may be late.
