For the next few days, Liana and Antonio spent every possible moment together.
Liana spent her time at the apartment he'd bought for them and at the end of every day before he went home to his wife; Antonio came back to the apartment and they made love.
Liana was very much aware that she was spending her time waiting for him but she honestly didn't care.
She couldn't care or else it would destroy her but she knew the choice she had made and she was willing to live with it just to be with him.
He came to see her a few times during the day, checking where she was and when she was not at the apartment, he made sure to meet her for lunch.
They went to the Guggenheim one afternoon and the Natural History Museum on another and Liana was enjoying spending time with him and learning about him as person.
Yes, they spent a lot of time in bed together, which was fantastic and wonderful and all the other things that went with it; but their days and trips together made her feel truly connected to him.
In a lot of ways, it scared Liana because she was falling so hard and so fast for someone she ultimately couldn't have.
Why did she have to feel this way about a man who was so completely unavailable?
She thought about his wife, a lot and while she knew it was never going to be a hot topic of conversation there was so much she wanted to know about this mysterious woman. Who was this woman who was able to marry Antonio SAbbatini but not keep him interested. What had happened that had caused him to be unfaithful? What worried Liana even more was that there was actually no answer to that question. That there was nothing wrong and Antonio was just a lying cheat, getting his kicks from telling her lies to keep her sweet.
She looked over at him then, typing away on his smartphone in the bed next to her and knew that could be the case.
She hadn't known him very long but she just knew he couldn't be as manipulative as that.
"I have to leave soon," she found herself saying as she sat up and held the cover against her naked body. "I have to go back to school."
Antonio stopped typing and turned to her,
"Really, I thought you didn't have any exams yet?"
"I don't but I think I should go back...regroup you know." Antonio sighed,
"Stop it,"
"Stop what?"
"Overthinking. Why go back if you don't have to?"
"Because I should, that's why." She snapped at him as she swung her feet over the side of the bed and stormed into the bathroom.
She wasn't in there two minutes before Antonio was stood in the doorway in just his boxer shorts. She hated that he looked so deliciously topless, even as she tried to ignore him. She began the actions to brush her teeth and caught glimpses of him in the mirror infront of her,
"I'm sorry Liana...really I am."
Liana slammed her little fists on the side of the bathroom sink before turning to him with frustration,
"What, what exactly are you sorry for?"
"For not being able to give you what you want."
"Which is?" she said stubbornly.
"Me," Antonio said quietly as he looked directly into her eyes. "All of me." He said walking towards her and Liana's heart ached because he was right.
