Apologies for the delay in updating guys. I've been busy with The Billionaire's Bribe as i've been getting it ready to be self published! I hope you guys will go out and purchase once its ready lol but until then lets get back to Liana and Antonio....

***

For the life of her Liana couldn't find her words and just sat there, mute with the phone to her ears.

"Is it true?"

Her father repeated his question and with strength from who knew where, she finally said,

"Yes."

It came out like a squeak and before she had a chance to clear her throat and repeat herself, the line went dead.

"Daddy...Daddy!"

Nothing, he'd hung up and so, with a rapidly beating heart she did the same.

Liana sat there for a good hour before she even remembered Antonio.

She'd hung up on him.

What on earth was she going to say to him now?

Just like that, the tears came.

She lay on her bed in the little flat she stayed in when not wanting to stay at the family estate and be close to London and cried her little heart out.

Her father and Antonio most likely hated her and there was nothing she could do to change that.

She had betrayed her father's trust and ruined Antonio's life if his reaction was anything to go by and she was in this all on her own.

Of course, she knew her family would support her eventually, but she would have to deal with the fallout on her own and who knew for how long?

What would happen when her mother found out and Luisa? Luisa would be happy she thought, her sister had never really liked her and once there was a reason for their father to be mad at her, Luisa would be overjoyed.

Liana continued to cry feeling overwhelmed and confused about her next step.

How was she going to explain this to everyone?

Liana couldn't be bothered to even start thinking about it and so, she wrapped herself in her bed sheets and cried herself to sleep.

---

She was woken by an incessant pounding on her front door.

Her brain was fuzzy from crying and sleep and she didn't even know what time it was.

Groggily, she staggered out of bed, not caring what she looked like and made her way unsteadily to the front door.

She opened it without checking who it was and when she saw Antonio standing there she was immediately wide awake.

"Antonio!"

He looked like he hadn't slept in a week and barged into the flat without a word to her. Liana shut the door quietly and pressed her head against the door to gather her senses before having to face him.

When she finally turned around, her bed throw wrapped around herself, Antonio was staring at her with his big arms folded over his chest staring at her with daggers for eyes.

"You hung up on me."

"My father was calling."

She saw his eye flicker and she knew somewhere deep inside, despite his rage, that he understood her predicament; that she'd had to speak to her father.
