Angelo and Diego Sabbatini were born without complications with their father, Uncle Leandro, Aunt Luisa and Grandmother Leia in attendance at a private hospital in New York.

"They're beautiful Li," Leandro said quietly as he held one of his newborn nephews, Luisa was holding the other.

"Thank you," Liana said quietly, so tired after the hours of labour but so very happy. She held Antonio's hand and he squeezed it reassuringly.

"So which one is which, do you have that mum thing automatically which means you can tell?" Leandro laughed and Liana blushed,

"We've only known them a few hours," Antonio said with a chuckle. "We're not supposed to know already...right?" Everyone looked up in the room and burst into laughter,

"They have tags Andro, you are holding Diego." Antonio laughed, and Leandro looked into the swaddling clothes at the baby's wrist,

"Oh yeah, so they do!"

Everyone burst out laughing again,

"Where is Lexi?" Liana asked softly,

"She'll meet us at the apartment, she's still in Aldovia I'm afraid so won't be here until later."

"That's fine, how are the wedding plans going?"

"They're...going," Leandro laughed, "I'll let Lexi tell you."

"How's Daddy?"

A thick hush fell over the room and Liana's heart thundered.

While she had spoken with her father during the remainder of her pregnancy, the relationship was strained. Whenever she was in a room, he would find somewhere else to be and it broke her heart each and every time.

They had never been a family that were in the same place for very long any way but when they were, it was usually a loving atmosphere and this wedge between Liana and Leonardo was a big one.

"He's doing okay...he sends his love."

"Come on Mama that's bullshit, he should be here!" Leandro snapped and for once, Leia didn't scold him for swearing.

"Its fine Andro," Liana said quietly,

"No Li, it isn't. Whats done is done, the twins are here now and Papa should be too! Why am I the only one willing to say it?"

Noone said anything, Antonio least of all, hating that this was his fault.

"Papa will come around...eventually," Luisa said unhelpfully but everyone just nodded until the door knocked.

"Come in," Leia called and no one was more surprised than Liana to see her father standing in the doorway.

"May I come in?" he said hesitantly, and Liana nodded,

"Of course, please!" she knew she said it too eagerly but she didn't care. Her father had come to see her, he had come to see his grandchildren after five long months of barely speaking to her.

Luisa handed Angelo to Leonardo while Andro handed Diego back to his mother, and quietly the rest of the family got up to leave. Antonio turned to leave as well when Leo said,

"No...please."

Antonio said nothing and reclaimed his stand beside Liana's bed as Andro shut the door behind his mother and sister.

"They're beautiful Liana, truly they are."

"Thank you, Daddy," she said quietly, terrified to break any truce that was currently being made.

Leo looked down at Angelo and placed his finger in one of the baby's tiny hands,

"I owe you both a...tremendously overdue apology." Leo said before looking up from the baby and into his daughter's eyes.

Liana's heart thundered in her chest as she held her breath and tried to hold back tears,

"It took me too long to realise that my anger was nowhere near as important as my relationship with my daughter and I'm sorry for being selfish and cruel and immature."

"Daddy, its okay."

"No Liana, its not. You're an adult, free to make your own choices and mistakes and its not my place to judge you for them or by my standards. I'm your father and I'm meant to protect you and be by your side at all times and...I lost that. I lost that terribly and I pray that you can forgive me."

"Of course, I forgive you Daddy!" Liana said, tears streaming down her face. "I love you more than anything."

"Not more then these two I can imagine," he said with a chuckle and the three adults laughed while Liana nodded,

"No, sorry they take your place now."

"As they should," he said before walking around to Antonio and placing Angelo in his father's arms.

"Antonio," Antonio said nothing as he held his eldest son and looked Leo in the eyes,

"You have it," Leo said simply, and both men nodded at each respectfully.

"I'll see you all back at the apartment when you are discharged," Liana nodded, a little confused as her father came over to kiss her forehead before leaving the room entirely.

"What was that about, what did he mean?"

Antonio turned to her with a smile before lowering his head to kiss her gently on the lips

"You'll know soon enough."

THE END

~~~
Aaaaand another one is done!
I was a tiiiny bit sporadic with the updates at the end of this lol but thank you for sticking with the story any way. I hope you enjoyed Antonio and Liana's very complicated road to love despite the questions of morality littered throughout! lol
In case it was in any way unclear, Leo left Antonio with his blessing to marry Liana so it is implied that they will be getting married very soon. This plot was not conventional so i didnt want to end with a conventional wedding and ride off into the sunset.
Once again, I hope you enjoyed and though i dont know when i'll start it, I'll most likely be doing Luisa's story next. Something about that goody two shoes wants to come out so we'll see how that goes lol.
Write soon!
