I fret about what to wear all morning. I only own two suits. A blue one and a black one. But neither are expensive, and I'm concerned that whoever is at this gala will be able to tell.

I'm standing at my closet, staring into it blankly when my phone rings. I jump in surprise, my heart racing as I read Kellin's name across the screen. I pick it up, ecstatic that I can ask his opinion.

"Hey," I answer enthusiastically.

"Hi," he replies, sounding mad.

"Woah, what's wrong?" I ask, my problems suddenly not mattering.

"Everything's going wrong," he says, sounding like he'll either cry or punch something. "My suit got lost at the dry cleaner's. I had a limo ride planned for the way there, but the driver was double booked and ditched me. And Tanya's out getting groceries in my car and-"

"Hey, hey," I say, trying my best to calm him down. "Slow down. It's okay, we can figure this out."

"Yeah, right. It's all falling apart. I don't even wanna go. Let's just stay in, fuck this gala."

"No," I say, chuckling. "If you put this much work into it, we should go. Look, I have two suits so you can take one. And I also have a car, which is kind of a shitbox, but it works. See? There's two problems solved already!"

"I can't show up there in your car. I'm sorry, but I have a reputation," he says jokingly. I scoff in offence anyway, and he laughs. "I'm kidding. Thank you, you're sweet."

"Can I come pick you up now? I miss you," I tell him.

"Um, yes. Obviously," he says.

I pull up to his house, an extra pep in my step as I try to calm the butterflies. I can't wait to see him. The door opens to Tanya's face and I stumble slightly before acting normal. I'm not sure she knows about us.

"What are you here for?" she asks, looking confused. "He doesn't have a shoot for two days."

"I know, I- uh..." I'm not good at this and my mind doesn't come up with an excuse fast enough.

"Is that Vic?" I hear Kellin's voice come from up the staircase. I hear his footsteps and silently thank whatever God helped me out as he pops up behind her.

"Hey," I say, smiling at him.

"Hey," he says, turning to Tanya. "he's helping me get ready. Okay, let's go."

He slips out the door and it takes everything in me to hold myself back. Once we get into the car and his front door closes, I lean over and kiss him sweetly. He smiles into it, his hand on my chest for a moment before he pushes me away.

"Stop it, I'll get turned on," he says. I half smile, loving the way it makes his eyes sparkle and cheeks blush. I pull away, heading back to my place.

I open my apartment door, smiling at Kellin as he passes through it. Ryan was in the living room, stretched out on the couch as he watches TV.

"Kellin!" he says in excitement as he spots him. Kellin smiles, heading over as Ryan stands and they pull each other into a guy-hug.

"What's up?" Kellin asks as they separate after smacking each other's back twice.

"Nothing man, I've missed you. Tell me about Vic, how awful is he?"

"Shut up," he says, slapping his shoulder. "Vic, let's go to your room. I don't like him today."

"Hey!" Ryan exclaims, offended. Kellin just sticks his tongue out and grips my upper arm as he leads to my room. "Whatever loverboys, just keep it down in there."
