*still two days ago*

"I'll be back in a couple hours Nessa, stay safe," I say to her, kissing her forehead. She hasn't been feeling the best, and I hate that I'm leaving her for a couple hours but it's necessary.

I have to do this. Delaying it won't do any good, it's only gonna make me more anxious to get it done.

"Okay, please be back soon," she says. I smile at her before giving her another kiss on the forehead.

"I will."

I stand up from the bed and start to head out, grabbing my car keys as I go.

I drive to her apartment complex and go into the building that I'm not so familiar with since I've only been here once to drop her off.

I see a lady on the reception desk and ask the location of her apartment, "Hello ma'am, do you know where apartment 325 is?"

"Yes, sir. Go left from that door," she points. "And then there's an elevator. The apartment you are looking for is on the third floor on the right side."

"Thanks, ma'am."

"You're welcome," she smiles at me. I head for where she told me to go, walking as slow as I can.

I'm super nervous to face her. I know she's gonna ask me why I came back home to grab all my clothes and then left without a word.

I'm an asshole, I know that. I should've told her before, but I was too nervous to.

She moved away after that, she didn't want to live in my house alone, and she already had an apartment that was going to waste since no one was living there.

So I guess she's okay with me? I have no idea though, I just don't want her to hate me.

I reach the third floor and go towards the right side, reaching the apartment 325.

I bring my knuckle to the door and knock three times. She answers immediately, like she knew I was coming.

"Grayson?" she asks in her strict British accent. The tension in the air is present and appears as soon as she opens the door.

"Yes?" I try to imitate her accent to take away the bad vibes in the air. She laughs, letting me in.

"Come on in, loser," she says. I roll my eyes and enter her apartment. She closes the front door and trails behind me.

Her apartment is small, with a white sofa in the living room taking up majority of the space in her whole apartment.

She walks ahead of me and motions me to sit on the couch.

"So, how are you?" she asks as soon as I sit. She's sitting on the sofa across from me.

"I'm good," I say. "How are you?"

"I'm good too," she says, smiling. I love her smile, it can soothe the tension in the air. "Where have you been?"

"My friend lost her boyfriend in an accident, and she needed my help," I say.

"Friend?"

"Yeah..." I say.

"You're lying Gray," she says with a straight face. "I know you love her."

"How-"

"It's obvious dumbass, it's too obvious," she laughs. "I don't mind."

"What?"
