Listen to the song "Lights Up" by Harry Styles. That's the song I was listening to when I was writing this, and honestly reminds me of the ending of this story.

"I feel like our surprise is going to trigger them, because they won't know what's coming," I say to Ethan as I bring out the cake at the table.
"Yeah," he says, laughing. "They're gonna KILL us."
"You. They're gonna kill you, this is your idea!" I say.
"Yeah," he says, winking at me. "But I'm a genius."
"I guess you are," I roll my eyes. "Ok, do you have the eggs ready?"
"Yes!" he says. He takes one out of the little four egg carton. "I'm so excited to see raw egg on their heads."
"Me too," I laugh. We planned to give both of them an egg, the pink one to Nessa and a blue one to Grayson. Whichever egg cracks and isn't hard boiled is the gender of the baby they're having.
It's messy, but smart.
I hear a knock on the door, and realize it was almost time for the couple to come in. The guests are already here.
"You ready babe?" I ask Ethan. He looks into my eyes and once again, I get a feeling of comfort I always feel with him around. I can't help but smile.
"Ready as I'll ever be, my love," he replies with his beautiful smile. I really did choose the right man to love.
We open the door and go into the room. Nessa and Gray both have their eyes closed, the plan is working perfectly. Ethan and I stop walking right in front of them.
"Okay, you can open your eyes now," I say. They both do, and sigh. The guests laugh.
"Roni, you know how much I hate eggs on my hair," said Nessa, frowning.
"It's good for your hair?" I smile. She gives me a mad look.
"I hate eggs too," Gray frowns. "Whatever, just give us the eggs."
"Deal with it. If the pink one is not hard boiled, you guys are having a girl and if the blue one isn't, you're having a boy. Okay?" says Ethan.
"Yes, can you guys do it for us?" says Nessa as she looks at Grayson.
"Yeah," says Ethan. "You ready Roni?"
"Ready as I'll ever be!" I say as I grab the pink egg. "3...2...1."
I crack the pink egg on Nessa's head. It wasn't hard boiled.

We're having a girl. We're having another girl. I look over to Grayson to see that he has yolk on him too.
"Roni this better not be a prank," I say to her. Her face looks priceless. She's the only one who knew the gender, why does she look so surprised?
"It's not," she says. I look over at Grayson, he has tears in his eyes.
"We're having twins?" we both say at the same time as I kiss him. This is the best news anyone could ever give us. I'm really really excited for the future, with the love of my life.

*seven years later*
"Grayson! Hurry up, Elle and Eli have their piano recital!" I yell. Grayson runs down the stairs and slips on his socks, but I catch him. "Gotcha."
"Always," he says as he smiles. "Elle! Eli! Come on it's time to go!"
"Coming daddy!" Elle says as she starts going down the stairs. She looks absolutely beautiful in her black recital dress, her curly black hair below her shoulders and her light brown eyes. She looks a lot like me, if I didn't have dimples. Her brother comes behind her, with his short black curly hair and hazel eyes. His features resemble Grayson's.
Annika comes down the stairs next. Our little girl is so big now, she's about to start high school. I can't believe how beautiful she is, and how smart and talented she is. Only being 14 years old, she's already picked up a camera and loves photography. A camera is in her hands right now as she prepares to take pictures of the twins.
As she takes the pictures, I can't help but look at my entire family and feel thankful. We're together. We have three beautiful children. We live close to our twins.
Our life is perfect.

*Later that night*
I look at Grayson as we lay in our bed.
This boy and his smile, it makes me wish I couldn't stop staring. I don't deserve him at all, how did I ever get so lucky to end up with him?
Of course, we have our whole lives ahead of us. More adventures, more days of loving each other. But I hate how long it took for me to realize that I still love this man, how much effort it took to forget him when I shouldn't have slipped him out of my mind in the first place.
I guess God does everything for a reason. Maybe he knew our connection, maybe he knew that we were meant to be. But I'm glad to say that if anything, I'm glad this boy chose me out of the billions of girls in this world.
"You know," says Grayson as we both lay on our bed, looking at each other. "All that's happened in our lives has taught me something."
"Interesting. What did you learn?" I say.
"That in life, to accomplish your goal, you need to go through obstacles. You have to go through hard times to get what you want in the end. Patience is the best thing a human being can have; you need to know that all the patience will eventually pay off. In the end, you will reach your goal."
"Your goal was...?"
"To have you again. And in the end, I finally have you."
